Summary: This review discusses the impact of eating behavior on the reduction of overnight fasting in shift workers and possible nutritional strategies involving fasting. Although the approach seems to be feasible and beneficial for shift workers, more research is needed to explore the potential risks and benefits and establish specific guidelines.

Summary: The study found that early-life exposure to famine decreased the risk of overweight and abdominal obesity in adulthood, while exposure to famine during any childhood period reduced the risk of abdominal obesity. Exposure to famine in mid-childhood also decreased the risk of general obesity in both males and females.

Summary: This study found that exposure to artificial light-at-night is associated with overweight and obesity in children and adolescents. The association varies depending on the socioeconomic status, with stronger effects in low-income areas. Reducing exposure to artificial light at night may help control childhood and adolescent obesity, especially in low-income areas.

Summary: Shift work has a negative impact on reproductive and sexual health of midwives, especially in terms of infertility and miscarriage. Night shifts also have adverse effects on various dimensions of sexual health. Therefore, measures should be taken to reduce shift rotation, provide time for recuperation or rest, and ensure a proper balance between work and personal life.

Summary: This study found a J-shaped association between body mass index (BMI) and mortality in Korean adults, meaning both underweight and overweight individuals had an increased risk of death. The association remained even after controlling for confounding factors such as fat-free mass. Abdominal obesity, as measured by waist circumference (WC), was also positively associated with mortality.

Summary: Some studies suggest that famine exposure during adolescence may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes later in life, but the association with overweight/obesity and abdominal obesity in adulthood is inconsistent. This meta-analysis found that famine exposure during adolescence is associated with a higher risk of overweight/obesity and abdominal obesity in adulthood, particularly in females.

Summary: This study examined the differences in insulin and leptin levels between dayshift and nightshift nurses and explored the effects of meal timing on these levels in nightshift workers. The results showed that nightshift nurses had higher insulin and leptin levels compared to dayshift nurses, and eating predominantly at night was associated with even higher levels. The study concluded that although nightshift work increases insulin and leptin levels, eating during the daytime may attenuate some of the negative effects on metabolic health.

Summary: This study examines the association between relative muscular strength and abdominal obesity in healthy Chilean adults. The results suggest that abdominal obesity is associated with lower muscle strength, and an increase in waist circumference is linked to a higher odds of having low relative muscular strength.

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) in university students. The results showed that nearly half of the university students had PMS, and around 11% had PMDD. Physical symptoms were the most common and had a moderate-to-severe interference in various aspects of life. Attending the first semesters, consuming alcohol, and having depression were identified as risk factors for PMS.

Summary: This study explores the relationship between dietary patterns and multimorbidity patterns in women. Greater adherence to the Brazilian dietary pattern is associated with a lower probability of high scores for cardiometabolic and psychosomatic patterns. Higher adherence to the healthy dietary pattern is associated with a higher probability of high scores for the cardiometabolic and endocrine-articular patterns. The risk dietary pattern shows no association after adjustment.

Summary: Countries have committed to reducing the work-related burden of disease and protecting workers' health through sustainable development goals and other policies. However, there is a lack of monitoring systems focusing on work-related diseases. To address this, a new global indicator is proposed to provide comprehensive surveillance of workers' health and improve policy and systems on workers' health.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the lifestyle habits and dietary patterns of university students during the COVID-19 pandemic and their association with skin color. The findings showed that skin color was associated with behaviors related to smoking, illicit drug use, alcohol consumption, and vegetable consumption. Black college students with higher income were less likely to exhibit undesirable behaviors related to psychoactive substance use. On the other hand, individuals with lower income had lower consumption of vegetables, indicating unfavorable health-related behavior.

Summary: The adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) in Florianopolis, Brazil, is approximately 85%, with white men who receive follow-ups in both primary and secondary care showing higher adherence. Age and number of consultations are directly related to adherence. Decentralizing care for people living with HIV/AIDS is necessary for comprehensive care, but technical and ethical challenges still need to be addressed. Professional training, appropriate referrals, and confidentiality measures should be reinforced to improve treatment adherence.
