Summary: Danggui Buxue decoction, containing Angelicae Sinensis Radix and Astragali Radix, can relax the rat MCA with higher efficacy on precontracted vessels. Angelicae Sinensis Radix shows superior vasodilator effects on KCl-contracted MCA compared to other components. DBD exhibits stronger vasodilator effects on MCA at various concentrations.

Summary: The study found that Danggui Buxue Tang (DBT) can selectively exert estrogenic activities and interact with tamoxifen in tissues, affecting bone, brain, uterus, and breast differently. DBT showed estrogenic effects in a tissue-selective manner, different from tamoxifen, but did not significantly change the effects of tamoxifen in OVX rats.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the TCM formula DBD effectively improves glucose tolerance in DD rats and alleviates depression-like behavior. DBD exerts antidepressant-like effects by regulating the CREB/BDNF/TrkB pathway to protect and remodel hippocampal neurons. Additionally, the main active component, ferulic acid (FA), significantly contributes to the treatment effects of DBD.

Summary: The study revealed that Danggui Buxue Tang (DBT) enhanced mitochondrial function and energy kinetics in osteoblasts, increasing maximal respiration, spare capacity, glycolysis capacity, and glycolysis reserve. DBT also modulated bioenergetic metabolism through cellular signaling pathways and affected mitochondrial morphology and dynamics. Overall, DBT can be considered a beneficial herbal extract for improving osteoblastic metabolism and bone disorders through central energy metabolism and mitochondrial bioenergetics.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the protective role of Danggui Buxue decoction (DBD) in the cognitive deficits and pathology process of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The results showed that DBD could effectively attenuate memory impairments, decrease A beta accumulation, restore mitochondrial biogenesis deficits and mitochondrial dysfunction, and improve H4K12 acetylation, suggesting that DBD might be a promising complementary drug candidate for AD treatment.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of Danggui-Buxue decoction (DBD) on vascular senescence in mice exposed to chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) and explored the role of the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway. The results showed that DBD could attenuate CIH-induced vascular senescence by inhibiting inflammatory response and oxidative stress through activating the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.

Summary: Danggui Buxue Decoction (DBD), a classic prescription of traditional Chinese medicine, has been used for over 800 years to treat clinical anemia. It has the potential to improve angiogenesis and promote neuroprotection. Combining DBD with bone marrow-derived endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) transplantation may be a novel strategy for treating focal cerebral ischemia (FCI). This study aimed to investigate the mechanistic effects of DBD in combination with EPCs transplantation on improving behavioral function and hyperlipidemia in FCI.
