Summary: Due to the increasing resistance of MRSA to traditional antibiotics, there is a need for the development of new antimicrobial agents. Thiazoles conjugated with different heterocyclic ring systems are recognized as key frameworks for generating molecules with antimicrobial properties against MRSA. Molecular hybridization, which combines multiple heterocyclic pharmacophores into one molecule, offers a new approach for the development of novel agents with improved biological applications. This review focuses on recent advancements in thiazole-based hybrid molecules as anti-MRSA agents and discusses the structure-activity relationships (SARs) in different orientations.

Summary: This study systematically investigated the distribution, abundance, morphology, and composition of microplastics (MPs) in surface seawater and sediment of Hainan Island. The results showed that the abundance of MPs in seawater was similar to other areas of the South China Sea, while the abundance in sediment was higher. The predominant shape of MPs was linear and fragmented, with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) being the dominant polymer, possibly originating from laundry wastewater. The petroleum concentration was positively correlated with MPs pollution in seawater.

Summary: Emotion lexicon is an essential resource for text emotion analysis. Previous studies have primarily focused on positive and negative classification, paying less attention to fine-grained emotion classification, particularly in the context of depression. Researchers have used lexicon-based methods to find that individuals with depression express more negative emotions on social media. While emotional characteristics are effective features for detecting depression, traditional emotion lexicons have limitations in detecting depression and fail to include many depression-related words. Therefore, this study constructs a depression emotion lexicon to further investigate the differences between healthy users and individuals with depression, and the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the constructed depression lexicon in classifying users with depression.
