Summary: The divergent synthesis of two indane polyketides of the indidene family has been reported. The study demonstrates the construction of the indane intermediate and the installation of the aroyl moiety using palladium-catalyzed and nickel-catalyzed reactions. The structures of indidenes B and C have been revised based on these investigations.

Summary: C-H bond oxidation is a powerful tool for introducing oxygen atoms into organic molecules and provides a new perspective on retrosynthetic disconnections. This review summarizes the application of five metal-catalyzed methodologies for C(sp(3))-H oxidation in the total synthesis of natural and unnatural products.

Summary: The study presented the construction of seven novel ent-trachylobane diterpenoids using a bioinspired synthetic strategy. Enantioselective and scalable access to five ent-trachylobanes was achieved in the first phase, with one compound produced on a 300 mg scale. Chemical C-H oxidation methods were then used in the second phase to selectively convert two higher functionalized ent-trachylobanes, revealing the potential and limitations of established protocols for complex molecule synthesis.

Summary: An efficient electrochemical method for benzylic C(sp(3))-H bond oxidation has been developed, which utilizes O-2 as the oxygen source and lutidinium perchlorate as an electrolyte in an undivided cell. The proposed single-electron transfer mechanism for the electrooxidation reaction was supported by cyclic voltammetry studies, O-18 labeling experiments, and radical trapping experiments.

Summary: An efficient free-radical-promoted unactivated C(sp(3))-H dehydrogenative coupling reaction of free alcohols at the delta position with quinone and chromone has been developed. This reaction shows good functional group tolerance and substrate scope, providing moderate to good yields of C(sp(2))-H alkylation products. It is a sustainable and practical strategy for the late-stage functionalization of alcohols with quinones and chromones by constructing challenging C(sp(3))-C(sp(2)) bonds.

Summary: The study reveals that MARCKS protein is differentially expressed in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia based on the mutation status of IGHV, and its expression and phosphorylation are linked to CLL cell migration through key signaling pathways. The findings were also confirmed in samples from patients treated with the BTK inhibitor acalabrutinib.

Summary: This study reports a site-selective electrochemical amination reaction that can convert benzylic C-H bonds into C-N linkages without the need for external oxidants or metal catalysts. The success lies in using HFIP as a co-solvent to modulate the oxidation potentials of the substrate and product, avoiding overoxidation of the latter.

Summary: In this study, the reactions of M3N@Ih-C80 (M = Sc and Lu) with TBAOH in methanol solution were investigated in benzonitrile and dimethylformamide solvents. It was found that OH- ions selectively attacked the fullerene cage to form the M3N@C80--O- intermediate. The products were different in benzonitrile and dimethylformamide, with fullerooxazoline heterocyclic products synthesized in benzonitrile and an epoxide obtained in dimethylformamide. The preference for fullerooxazoline formation was explained by density functional theory calculations and plausible reaction mechanisms were proposed.

Summary: Synthetic antioxidant food additives like BHA, BHT and TBHQ are facing challenges due to negative consumer perception, prompting food manufacturers to seek safer natural alternatives. Terpenoids and polyphenols, widely distributed in fruits and vegetables, show broad antioxidant effects and have the potential to replace synthetic antioxidants in food preservation, particularly in preventing lipid oxidation in high fat-containing foods.

Summary: This study aimed to explore how H1 receptor-mediated ERK phosphorylation is regulated by Gq proteins and arrestins. The results showed that the Gq protein pathway mainly regulates early phosphorylation reaction, while the arrestin pathway mainly regulates late phosphorylation reaction.

Summary: The study utilizes the lack of functional beta-oxidation pathway in cyanobacteria to efficiently stable-isotope-label their fatty acid derived lipidome by supplementing with deuterated fatty acids, enabling easy detection of natural product signatures. This strategy has been successfully demonstrated in two cultured cyanobacteria, leading to the discovery of analogues of the multidrug-resistance reverting hapalosin and novel, cytotoxic lactylate-nocuolin A hybrids - the nocuolactylates.

Summary: By utilizing inexpensive K2S2O8 as the oxidant at room temperature, the phenoxazination/phenothiazination of electron-rich anilines has been successfully achieved. This catalyst-free method demonstrates complete para-selective amination, showing high efficiency and simplicity in flow-chemistry synthesis.

Summary: A product and DFT computational study was conducted on the reactions of 3-ethyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)dioxirane (ETFDO) with bicyclic and spirocyclic hydrocarbons bearing cyclopropyl groups. The reactions exhibited good site-selectivities and diastereoselectivities, which were supported by calculated activation free energies. The computational results showed that hyperconjugative interactions between the cyclopropane C-C bonding orbitals and the sigma* orbitals of the C-H bonds activated these bonds towards hydrogen atom transfer to ETFDO.

Summary: This study investigates different strategies to improve protein yield and properties in cross-processed herring co-products. By optimizing processing conditions and techniques, it is possible to enhance protein yield and improve its solubility and emulsification properties, albeit at the cost of reduced gelation properties.
