Summary: This study examined the national prevalence estimates of German children and adolescents aged 9 to 18 who meet physical activity, screen time, and sleep guidelines, as well as the associations with demographic and personal characteristics. The results showed a low percentage of adherence to the guidelines, with a decrease in compliance with increasing age. The findings highlight the urgent need for health interventions targeting youth behavior as a whole.

Summary: The study found a negative association between moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity (MVPA) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), suggesting that increasing MVPA can prevent NAFLD. Sedentary behavior (SB) was also associated with NAFLD, but lost significance after adjustment for body mass index (BMI).

Summary: In this study of 62,286 older adults, higher levels of physical activity were associated with a reduced risk of dementia, even light-intensity physical activity was found to be beneficial. The findings suggest that promoting physical activity, including light-intensity activities, may help reduce the incidence of dementia in older adults.

Summary: This protocol paper outlines a systematic review plan to examine the physical activity levels among young children with disabilities. The study aims to synthesize the evidence from empirical quantitative studies on non-therapeutic physical activity in children aged below 5.99 years with various impairments. The review will utilize electronic database searches and manual searching to identify relevant studies for inclusion.

Summary: The global decline in habitual physical activity levels among children and adolescents has negative impacts on health and sustainable development. However, public health surveillance and attention to physical activity levels among children are limited globally. This article proposes improvements in global public health surveillance of physical activity in children and provides empirical examples of how improved surveillance can lead to public health initiatives.

Summary: The aim of this study is to investigate the current status, as well as barriers and facilitators of physical activity promotion in daycare centres in Germany. A cross-sectional survey will be conducted on 5500 daycare centres, with directors and pedagogical staff members filling out a standardized self-administered questionnaire. The survey will explore characteristics of the daycare centre, implementation of physical activity promotion, and other relevant factors. Results will be disseminated through publications and presentations to the scientific community and stakeholders.

Summary: The benefits of physical activity for children with disabilities are numerous, but they often face barriers to participation such as lower fitness levels and higher rates of overweight and obesity. Health care providers play a crucial role in encouraging and facilitating physical activity for children with disabilities.

Summary: This study aimed to assess physical activity patterns among children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), comparing them with healthy controls. The results showed that pediatric patients with inactive or mildly active IBD have similar physical activity patterns compared with healthy controls, except for male patients who have reduced moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. Most patients with IBD did not meet the recommended levels of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity for health benefits.

Summary: This study compared the report card grades among 15 Asian jurisdictions participating in the Global Matrix 4.0 and explored differences in regional cultural and policy factors related to physical activity behaviors. The findings revealed generally poor grades for physical activity and sedentary behavior in Asian jurisdictions. The better grades on the sources of influence did not translate into favorable behaviors among children and adolescents.

Summary: This study found that performing four consecutive football matches separated by 48-72 hours during a FIFA tournament did not significantly alter plasma stress markers, physical load, and technical performance in elite female football players. Players from low-rank teams played more time than high-rank players, and differences in technical performance actions were mainly explained by match time. Uric acid levels increased across matches, with a larger increase in high-rank players, while CRP levels also increased across matches. Only high-rank players showed a significant time effect for uric acid.

Summary: This study found that the fit factor of surgical masks is not affected by facial hair, but the fit factor of filtering respirators is reduced when used with facial hair. Summary: This study investigated the effectiveness of pressure release technique (PRT) for reducing pain in patients with chronic myofascial temporomandibular disorders (TMD). The results showed a significant reduction in pain scores in the PRT group, with moderate effect sizes at all follow-up periods. Therefore, adding PRT to conventional management can effectively improve self-reported pain levels in patients with chronic myofascial TMD pain.

Summary: A retrospective case-control study found that factors such as greater intradialytic weight change and post-dialysis lateral instability were associated with an increased risk of falls among hemodialysis patients. Additionally, high blood pressure, antihypertensives, beta-blockers, and lower heart rates were also identified as factors associated with falls. Nursing staff can help prevent falls by controlling these factors in dialysis patients.
