Summary: Identifying chemical compounds is crucial in various scientific and engineering fields. While laser-based techniques have shown promise, optical identification using visible light has not been achieved. In this study, a machine learning classifier is developed based on decades of experimental refractive index data, allowing accurate identification of organic species using a single-wavelength dispersive measurement in the visible spectral region. The proposed optical classifier can be applied to autonomous material identification protocols and applications.

Summary: This paper introduces a topological index called the Sombor index, which is a molecular descriptor that has received considerable research attention in recent years. The paper also proposes a family of topological indices called integral Sombor indices, which generalize the Sombor index, and explores their application in QSPR/QSAR research.

Summary: This paper extends the practical applicability of graph-theoretic irregularity indices in reticular chemistry by proposing a method to compute various irregularity indices of graphs using their main eigenvalues. The paper also determines the irregularity indices of several classes of graphs and proves a conjecture. Additionally, the paper provides regression modeling for irregularity indices with significant predictive potential.

Summary: A study developed two quantitative structure-property relationship models for the complexation performance of alpha- and beta-cyclodextrins and validated their stability and predictive ability through internal and external validation. The models showed robustness and satisfactory performance, as demonstrated by the experimental results and model validations. These models can effectively predict the binding constants between cyclodextrins and various types of molecules, providing valuable tools for cyclodextrin design.

Summary: A typical multicyclic branched-topology polystyrene (c-BPS) with high molecular weight and narrow dispersity was efficiently synthesized using ATRP and ATRC techniques. The topological constraints of cyclic units and branch points had a significant impact on the entanglement behaviors of the polymer chains in solution, resulting in unique rheological properties of c-BPS compared to branched and linear precursors.

Summary: A series of polythioethers with spirobifluorene skeletons were successfully synthesized by a thiol-ene reaction, exhibiting high refractive index, transparency, and thermal stability. The manipulation of refractive index and Abbe number through reacting different dithiol components with DASF allows for the design of molecular structures suitable for nano- and microfabrication, achieving high transparency, flexibility, and thermal stability.

Summary: One of the major branches of mathematical chemistry, chemical graph theory, uses graph invariants to mathematically demonstrate chemical phenomena. Topological indices, numerical graph invariants derived from molecular graph representations, are used in structure-property modeling. Recently, the Zagreb connection indices have gained a lot of attention. The aim of this report is to reveal the chemical significance of these variants of Zagreb index and demonstrate their fascinating mathematical attributes. The chemical connection of the indices is examined through investigating their potential in structure-property modeling. Some crucial upper bounds for connection indices are computed to illustrate mathematical features, with characterization of maximal structures. Such characterization is extremely useful in regulating molecular properties predicted by the connection indices.

Summary: The development of polymerization methodology is crucial for obtaining polymers with diverse structures and functions. In this study, efficient transition-metal-free room temperature regioselective polymerizations of selenium and alkynones were developed to create functional polymers with unique selenium-containing heterocycles. The resulting polymers exhibited excellent solubility, stability, and high refractive indices.

Summary: Motivated by previous work on medicines, we examined the quantitative structure-property relationships (QSPR) of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). We used topological indices to analyze the data of NSAIDs. Topological indices are measures that reflect the theoretical features of chemical substances.

Summary: Lyme disease, caused by Borrelia burgdorferi and transmitted by Ixodes ticks, is a widespread vector-borne infection in the United States, Asia, and Europe. Topological indices are used to analyze the structures of Lyme medicines and study their physical and chemical properties. By applying a linear regression model, the correlation between topological indices and drug properties is examined, providing a theoretical approach to drug analysis without conducting lab experiments. The findings show a direct correlation between topological indices and experimental values, with most correlation coefficients above 0.7 and p-values less than 0.05, validating the computations.
