Summary: The study revealed higher levels of miR-660-5p and lower levels of KLF3 in HCC tissues. It was found that miR-660-5p targets KLF3. MiR-660-5p-loaded M2-Exo enhance HCC development by downregulating KLF3.

Summary: The study reveals differences in macrophage development and cytokine expression between M-CSF and GM-CSF cells after virus infection. While R848-induced cytokine expression is enhanced, signaling molecule activation is decreased in LCMV-infected macrophages. Interestingly, TLR7 expression is maintained at higher levels in M-CSF cells compared to GM-CSF.

Summary: Reprogramming macrophages to express CD169 using a low dose of IFN enhances their phagocytic and CD8+ T cell-activating capacities, inhibits hepatoma growth, and can be further improved by blocking PD-L1 expression on macrophages.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major cause of cancer death worldwide. Late diagnosis and limited treatment options contribute to the low survival rate of patients with HCC. Currently, combining ultrasound with the biomarker AFP is a commonly used screening method, but its clinical utility and operator-dependence are controversial.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) contains a significant number of immune cell stroma, with tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) playing a crucial role in HCC development. Targeting TAMs in HCC treatment has shown promising therapeutic outcomes by eliminating, blocking recruitment, reprogramming, and restoring TAMs functions.

Summary: This study found that tumor cell-derived exosomal miR-26a promotes the progression of HCC through the LRP6/Wnt pathway, while engineered HCC-derived exosomes loaded with miR-26a effectively inhibit HCC progression. Low expression of exosomal miR-26a is an independent prognostic factor for recurrence and survival in HCC patients.

Summary: miR-26a plays an antagonistic role in hypertensive vascular remodelling by inhibiting extracellular matrix deposition via targeting CTGF and reducing VSMC proliferation by regulating the EZH2/p21 pathway. AngII-mediated Smad3 activation suppresses miR-26a expression, promoting Smad3 activation through targeted regulation of Smad4, leading to further down-regulation of miR-26a.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common and deadly cancer, with a poor prognosis in late stages. Understanding the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in HCC pathogenesis may lead to improved outcomes. MiRNAs have potential as valuable biomarkers and therapeutic targets in HCC diagnosis and treatment.

Summary: In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), PD-L1(+) host macrophages are a major cellular source of PD-L1 in tumors, displaying a glycolytic phenotype and producing antitumor IL-12p70. The regulation of these macrophages involves fibronectin 1-induced PKM2, controlling both antitumor properties and inflammation-mediated PD-L1 expression. Modulating the context of glycolytic macrophages in HCC tumors may restore their antitumor properties and offer a precise strategy for anticancer therapy.

Summary: The study revealed that high expression of PCSK9 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is associated with microvascular invasion and large tumor size, leading to poor overall survival and disease-free survival in patients. Experimental findings demonstrated that PCSK9 promotes HCC growth by inhibiting cell apoptosis, with FASN-mediated anti-apoptosis playing a significant role in this process.
