Summary: A single-handed poly(quinoxaline-2,3-diyl) (PQX) has been discovered as a new type of chiral shift reagent (CSR) for determining enantiomeric ratio by NMR spectroscopy. Without specific binding site, PQX interacts nonbondingly with chiral analytes, resulting in significant shift of NMR chemical shift and enabling quantification of enantiomeric ratios. This new CSR offers advantages such as wide analyte scope, including ethers, haloalkanes, and alkanes, easy tunability of chemical shifts with temperature, and erasability of proton signals due to short T-2 relaxation of the macromolecular scaffold.

Summary: Two helical ligands were synthesized and used to synthesize eight complexes. The crystal structures showed that the ligands exist as racemic mixtures and their assembly with metal ions can result in homochiral or heterochiral complexes through self-recognition or self-discrimination processes. Furthermore, the synthesized complexes exhibited good selective adsorption capacities for methanol and ethanol vapor.

Summary: This study reports the self-assembly of a copolymer into helical nanowires through pi-pi stacking and solvophobic interaction. The chirality of the nanowires is found to be tunable by adding different chiral compounds. This research is significant for expanding the library of ordered self-assembled structures of alternating copolymers and constructing helical supramolecular structures.

Summary: Novel CPL-active supramolecular helical nanowires (SHNWs) were constructed through hierarchical self-assembly of supramolecular coordination polymers. The CPL colors of the resulting SHNWs are drastically regulated from blue to red, passing through white.

Summary: This study reported the synthesis and characterization of homochiral macrocycles, using 1,1'-bi-2-naphthol (Binol) units as chirality inducers and pyridyl units for the assembly of helical nanostructures upon coordination with Pd(II) metal ions. CD and NMR spectroscopies confirmed the formation of ordered 1D assembly in solution, while AFM studies showed the capability of the molecular systems to form nanoscale structures. The transfer of chiral information led to the formation of helical nanofibers with specific dimensions.

Summary: This study presents an atom-precise 18-copper nanocluster (Cu18H) with a pseudo D-3-symmetrical triple-helical Cu-15 core. Cu18H exhibits unique multi-layered 3D chirality and forms an infinite double-stranded helix through intra-strand and inter-strand interactions. The hierarchical assemblies of Cu18H not only resemble the structure of DNA but also exhibit crystallization-induced emission enhancement and aggregation-induced emission enhancement effects, as well as efficient catalysis of electron transfer reactions.

Summary: This study explores the formation of helical supramolecular structures in solid-state through conjugation of N-terminal aryl protecting group, demonstrating the importance of asymmetric H-bonds in creating super-helical structures. The correlation between supramolecular tilted chirality of aryl segments and their chiroptical activities is unveiled for the first time, providing insights for the rational design and screening of chiroptical supramolecular materials.

Summary: The self-assembled structures of a hydrogen-bonding oligo(thiophene) molecule functionalized with a barbiturate unit were investigated at different hierarchical levels. It was found that two distinct molecular self-assembly pathways exist, leading to the formation of rodlike and helical nanofibers.

Summary: This study reports the self-templated assembly of amyloid-like dipeptides into long-range-ordered hierarchical helical arrays through spontaneous fibrillization and hierarchical helical assembly within a confined film. By changing the chirality and enantioselective interactions, researchers can precisely control the phase behavior, handedness, and chiroptics of the self-assembled HHAs. The redox activity of HHAs allows for the in situ decoration of nanoparticles with high catalytic activity.

Summary: Pathway complexity results in the formation of unique materials from the same components according to assembly conditions. A gelator in this study forms three different gels with contrasting morphology and rheological properties. The formation of a hyperhelical gel involves association with a non-gelling conformer. This research demonstrates the importance of pathway complexity in self-assembly processes.
