The realization of efficient microrectification equipment that can be operated intermittently or continuously is reported. The equipment can be used for both analytical and preparative separations of mixtures of liquid substances. Different binary systems were separated. A theoretical separation stage number of 12 was obtained, together with a height equivalent to one theoretical plate of 1.08?cm. Compared to the state of microtechnology, this can be regarded as excellent progress.

Summary: The study reported direct methanation of CO2 over ceria- and alumina-supported nickel catalysts in the feed stream containing methane and traces of H2S. The results showed that ceria-supported nickel catalyst exhibited higher conversion at 350 degrees Celsius, while the introduction of trace amounts of H2S led to rapid decrease in CO2 conversion and CH4 selectivity.

Effect of the Active Metal on the NOx Formation during Catalytic Combustion of Ammonia SOFC Off-Gas

Tobias Weissenberger, Ralf Zapf, Helmut Pennemann, Gunther Kolb

Summary: The catalytic combustion of hydrogen and ammonia-containing off-gas surrogate from an ammonia solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) was studied. The results showed that the tested catalysts were able to completely convert hydrogen and ammonia present in the off-gas. The formation of nitrogen oxides (NOx) increased with reaction temperature and stagnated at temperatures of 600 degrees C and higher.

2D Model of Transfer Processes for Water Boiling Flow in Microchannel

Valery A. Danilov, Christian Hofmann, Gunther Kolb

Summary: The modeling of transfer processes was conducted to generalize and interpret experimental data on heat transfer. A two-dimensional model based on a homogeneous mixture model was developed for boiling water flow in a microchannel, with a new evaporation submodel. The simulation successfully predicted the distribution of velocity, void fraction, and temperature profiles in the microchannel, with the predicted temperature profile consistent with experimental literature data.
