Thermochromic and solvatochromic Nafion films incorporating cationic metal-chelate complexes

Nafion films incorporating cationic nickel complexes [Ni-II(acac)(R(4)en)](+) (acac = acetylacetonato, R(4)en = tetraalkylethylenediamine) that exhibit chromic behavior in response to temperature changes and solvent molecules in the vapor and liquid phases have been prepared.
