Summary: By studying the effects of two different Apt incorporation strategies on the performance and properties of polymeric prodrugs, it was found that Apt-CS-FU demonstrated better tumor inhibition efficacy in murine tumor models compared to Apt/CS-FU, attributed to the smaller size of Apt-CS-FU leading to prolonged in vivo circulation.

Summary: In this study, TiO2 nanoparticles were functionalized with organic acids containing different numbers of hydroxyl groups. The adjustment of surface functional groups significantly affected the Ge(IV) adsorption capacity. The tartaric acid-functionalized TiO2 nanoparticles showed higher hydroxyl content and adsorption capacity than previously reported adsorbents, and also exhibited remarkable affinity for Ge(IV) in a metallurgical simulated solution.

Summary: Protonolysis reactions between dimethylamido titanium-(IV) catecholate and neopentanol or tris(tert-butoxy)silanol yielded catecholato-bridged dimers, while reactions with dimeric dimethylamido titanium(IV) (3,6-di-tert-butyl)catecholate produced monomeric complexes. The neopentoxide complex engaged in further reactions and was used for grafting onto mesoporous silica KIT-6. Comparisons were made with a sequential and an aqueous approach, which showed different surface species and band-gap reductions.

Summary: The synthesis and structure of two bis(germanocenes) and a bis(stannocene) are reported. DFT calculations show that the formation of these bis(tetrelocenes) is energetically favored over the formation of the corresponding [1]tetrelocenophanes. In the crystal structure, the tetrel(ii) centers are forced into close proximity, resulting in weak donor-acceptor interactions.

Summary: Carrier colloids have been identified as the primary mechanism for enhancing the transport of actinides in the subsurface at former nuclear weapons facilities. However, there is a lack of sub-micrometer size investigations on the sorption/interactions between radionuclides and natural colloids. This study evaluated the interactions between Pu (IV)/Zr (IV) and colloids formed from Chinese Gaomiaozi bentonite, providing valuable insights into the potential migration of these elements in subsurface waters.

Summary: In this study, vanadium-titanium doped MFI zeolite was synthesized and its synergistic catalytic effect in the epoxidation of 1-hexene and cyclohexene was investigated. The simultaneous incorporation of vanadium and titanium induced the partial charge transformation of titanium (IV) into titanium (III), leading to improved catalytic performance. Additionally, the dual insertion of vanadium and titanium increased the number of Lewis acid sites and external surface area, further enhancing the synergistic catalytic effect. The prepared VTS(0.15) zeolite exhibited high catalytic activity and good reusability.

Summary: The regioselective functionalization of the bowl-shaped Idpc is crucial for the synthesis of hetero-bis-functionalized Idpc derivatives. By positioning halogen and methyl groups at specific positions in the rim area of Idpc, either through consecutive CuAAC and C-C cross-coupling reactions or by C-C cross-coupling alone, symmetric or non-symmetric bis-functionalized Idpc derivatives can be obtained.

Summary: In this article, a novel catalytic reaction using Pd(0) and Bronsted acid is reported for the synthesis of biologically important imidazolidinone-fused N-heterocycles through redox-neutral intramolecular N-allylation of indoles and pyrroles with alkynes. This atom-economical method is applicable to a wide range of substrates and eliminates the need for leaving groups or oxidizing agents commonly used in traditional allylation reactions.

Summary: This study presents the design and synthesis of sulfated disaccharide inhibitors based on IdoA(2S)-GlcNS(6S), which showed potent inhibition of Sulf-2. The results suggest that IdoA(2S)-GlcNS(6S) is the shortest fragment size required for effective inhibition of Sulfs, and a trisulfated disaccharide is identified as the minimal fragment size of heparan sulfate for effective endosulfatase inhibition.

Summary: The self-adaptability of galvanostatic electrolysis was found to be helpful in a multistage chemo- and diastereoselective electrochemically promoted cyclodimerization of chalcones. Through a series of reductive events, densely functionalized cyclopentanes with five contiguous stereocenters were obtained (25 examples, yields up to 95%, dr values up to >20:1). Further experimental and electrochemical investigations indicated the crucial role of dynamic kinetic resolution of the aldol intermediate in the reaction mechanism.

Summary: In this study, the synthesis of functionalized benzo[a]phenazines and indazolo[2,3-a]quinolines was achieved through Rh(III)-catalyzed oxidative annulation of 2-arylquinoxalines and 2-aryl-2H-indazoles with allyl alcohols. The method showed a wide substrate scope, excellent functional group tolerance, good to high yields of annulated products, and the capability for scaled-up synthesis. A tentative mechanism of the annulation reaction was proposed based on a preliminary mechanistic investigation.
