Summary: In this study, the effect of Zr content on the ferroelectricity of as-grown crystalline HZO thin films was investigated using atomic layer deposition. The transition behavior of paraelectric, ferroelectric, and antiferroelectric characters was observed for the first time without post-annealing. The results suggest a process strategy suitable for various device applications based on the ferroelectricity and antiferroelectricity of HZO thin films.

Summary: Visible light-induced cross-dehydrocoupling of 3-cyanocoumarins with unactivated aliphatic aldehydes was achieved, providing a direct synthesis of 4-acylated coumarins. The reaction utilized (n-Bu)4NBr as a precursor of the hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) catalyst and [Ir(ppy)2(dtbbpy)-PF6] as a photocatalyst. Various aldehydes, including linear, branched, cyclic, and alpha,beta-unsaturated aliphatic aldehydes, yielded the desired acylated coumarin derivatives in yields ranging from 41% to 98%. This method offers a mild, atom-economical, and environmentally friendly approach for the direct acylation of 3-cyanocoumarins. It also represents the first example of C-4 aliphatic acylation of coumarins.

Summary: Coordination of a pyridine-pyrazole-based PNN(H) ligand to RhI produces a family of neutral and cationic RhI complexes. These complexes show activity for the dehydrocoupling of amine boranes, producing cyclic oligomers as the main product. The neutral complexes exhibit higher activity in catalyst systems with base activation.

Summary: The scandocene alkyl complex efficiently catalyzes the dehydrocoupling of non-cyclic boranes with amines, yielding high yields of aminoboranes with good functional group tolerance under mild conditions. The scandium amide complex is an active species in the catalysis, while the borane-coordinated scandium hydride is not involved in the catalytic cycle. Kinetic studies provide insight into this intermolecular dehydrogenation reaction.

Summary: The synthesis of alpha-phosphoryloxy carbonyls has been achieved through the sequential in situ formation of a Kukhtin-Ramirez adduct and a P(NMe2)(3)-catalyzed process for the phosphination of alpha-dicarbonyls. Various P(O)-H derivatives, including diarylphosphine oxides, arylphosphinates, and phosphinates, can be introduced into the alpha-dicarbonyls, resulting in the formation of different alpha-phosphoryloxy carbonyls. This method offers advantages of mild conditions, simplicity, atom economy, high efficiency, and gram-scale synthesis, making it a promising tool in synthesis.

Summary: In this study, the synthesis and characterization of two iridium pincer monocarbonyl complexes with Yamashita's PBP boryl ligand are reported. These complexes were tested as precatalysts for the catalytic dehydrocoupling of amine boranes, and one of them showed selective production of polyaminoboranes. A tetrahydride complex was also identified as the resting state of catalysis.

Summary: P(NMe2)(3)-mediated substrate-controlled annulations of azoalkenes with α-dicarbonyl compounds were studied. The azoalkenes can selectively act as either four or five-atom synthons. The reaction with isatins resulted in the formation of spirooxindole-pyrazolines as four-atom synthons, while the reaction with aroylformates led to chemo- and stereoselective formation of pyrazolones as five-atom synthons. The synthetic utilities of the annulations were demonstrated, and a novel TEMPO-mediated decarbonylation reaction was discovered.

Summary: This study evaluated the thermal stability of CpZr(NMe2)(3), a precursor for depositing ZrO2 films, under thermal stress and found that dimethylamine and trimethylamine are generated during heating, which affect the film growth and properties. By adjusting the precursor's vapor pressure, films with different characteristics can be formed under the same process conditions, but this compromises the device's reliability. Therefore, studying precursor decomposition is crucial for developing new precursors and highly reliable thin films and devices.

Summary: The self-adaptability of galvanostatic electrolysis was found to be helpful in a multistage chemo- and diastereoselective electrochemically promoted cyclodimerization of chalcones. Through a series of reductive events, densely functionalized cyclopentanes with five contiguous stereocenters were obtained (25 examples, yields up to 95%, dr values up to >20:1). Further experimental and electrochemical investigations indicated the crucial role of dynamic kinetic resolution of the aldol intermediate in the reaction mechanism.
