Summary: In this study, a family of platinum complexes were synthesized and used as hydrosilylation catalysts to prepare luminescent silicone rubbers. The silicone rubbers and the complexes exhibited similar emission spectra in the green region and strong phosphorescence, with potential applications in protective coatings and phosphor-converted white light-emitting diodes.

Summary: This study developed a series of cyclometalated platinum (II) complexes with near-infrared phosphorescent emission targeting carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX). These complexes showed high binding affinity and effective inhibition on CAIX in vitro. The complexes demonstrated significantly enhanced therapeutic effect on multiple cancer cell lines compared to cisplatin and had higher selectivity towards cancer cells.

Summary: Using Xenopus egg extracts, this study demonstrates that the TOP2 poisons etoposide and doxorubicin inhibit DNA replication through different mechanisms. Etoposide induces TOP2-dependent DNA breaks and TOP2-dependent fork stalling, while doxorubicin stalls replication forks independently of TOP2 by intercalating into parental DNA.

Summary: This study focuses on the substitution of the chlorido ligand in a cyclometalated complex with thioacetate, resulting in a thiolato complex. The photophysical properties of this complex were investigated in different states, revealing changes in phosphorescence spectra, lifetime decays, and quantum yield with increasing complex concentration. The tuning of emission spectra was found to depend on the competition between monomeric and aggregate emissive states.

Summary: The mechanochromic and mechanoluminescent properties of a series of fluoro-substituted chiral Pt(NNC)Cl complexes have been investigated, showing blue-shift in absorption and emission with F substitutes. Different mechanochromic and mechanoluminescent behaviors were observed in obtained yellow or orange solid powders of cyclometalated platinum(II) complexes. Notably, (-)-3FC yellow crystallites exhibit a sensitive and contrast mechanochromic and mechanoluminescent phenomenon, with color and luminescence changing significantly. The reversible nature of these behaviors with multiple cycles and the recovery of original crystallites with acetone drop were also demonstrated.

Summary: The synthesis and characterization of a series of cycloplatinated(II) complexes, as well as their photophysical properties and electronic transitions, were investigated in this study. The phosphine-containing dfppy derivatives exhibit dual emission bands in the solid state and have higher quantum yield values compared to ppy analogs. Complexes with PPh(2)py show stronger emissions than those containing PPh3.

Summary: This study presents the synthesis and characterization of two series of mononuclear and symmetrical binuclear cycloplatinated(II) complexes. The structures of these complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. One of the complexes showed a high quantum yield of up to 21% in the solid state. Density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT calculations were used to interpret the absorption and emission properties of these complexes.

Summary: We have investigated a range of dicationic heteroleptic complexes with two cyclometalating 2-phenylbenzothiazole (pbt) groups and a phenanthroline-based ligand. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of these complexes were studied, and different emissive states were observed depending on the medium and excitation wavelength. Theoretical calculations supported these findings and provided insights into the luminescence of these PtIV complexes.

Summary: A total of six novel platinum complexes were successfully synthesized from saturated N-heterocyclic carbene precursors, showing strong emissive properties in the sky-blue region of the visible spectrum with quantum yields up to 71% in a PMMA matrix. The structures were characterized by NMR experiments and solid-state analyses, confirming the cyclometalation and saturated backbone of the NHC motif. DFT calculations were used to examine the photophysical and electrochemical properties of the platinum complexes.

Summary: This study presents the design and synthesis of sulfated disaccharide inhibitors based on IdoA(2S)-GlcNS(6S), which showed potent inhibition of Sulf-2. The results suggest that IdoA(2S)-GlcNS(6S) is the shortest fragment size required for effective inhibition of Sulfs, and a trisulfated disaccharide is identified as the minimal fragment size of heparan sulfate for effective endosulfatase inhibition.

Summary: The self-adaptability of galvanostatic electrolysis was found to be helpful in a multistage chemo- and diastereoselective electrochemically promoted cyclodimerization of chalcones. Through a series of reductive events, densely functionalized cyclopentanes with five contiguous stereocenters were obtained (25 examples, yields up to 95%, dr values up to >20:1). Further experimental and electrochemical investigations indicated the crucial role of dynamic kinetic resolution of the aldol intermediate in the reaction mechanism.

Summary: In this study, the synthesis of functionalized benzo[a]phenazines and indazolo[2,3-a]quinolines was achieved through Rh(III)-catalyzed oxidative annulation of 2-arylquinoxalines and 2-aryl-2H-indazoles with allyl alcohols. The method showed a wide substrate scope, excellent functional group tolerance, good to high yields of annulated products, and the capability for scaled-up synthesis. A tentative mechanism of the annulation reaction was proposed based on a preliminary mechanistic investigation.
