Prenucleation and coalescence of cobalt nanoclusters mediated by multivalent calixarene complexes

The formation of cobalt nanoclusters from polynuclear Co-alkyne species can be directed by multivalent calixarene ligands; thermochemical studies of Co-n-calixarenes reveal the influence of multivalency in prenucleation and postnuclear growth processes.
