Summary: This study investigates whether in vivo imaging with CEST-Dixon can distinguish lymph nodes with metastatic involvement from those without. The results suggest that CEST-Dixon can detect a unique microenvironment in metastatic lymph nodes and has the potential for non-invasive mapping of lymph node metastasis in vivo.

Summary: The research shows that 6,8-DG inhibits VEGF-A-induced lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis by suppressing VEGF-A expression in cancer cells and the VEGF-A/VEGFR-2 signaling pathway in HLMEC. Therefore, 6,8-DG could be a novel and valuable therapeutic agent for metastasis prevention and treatment of oral cancer.

Summary: Metastasis on lymph nodes is a common way for primary tumor cells to spread, but detecting metastatic lymph nodes is challenging for radiologists. This study introduces an additional branch that utilizes information about lymph node stations for supplementary detection, using a GCN-based structure to model the relationship among different lymph node stations and achieving better performance in metastatic LN detection.

Summary: The number of positive lymph nodes has an impact on the overall survival of patients with submandibular gland cancer. Other factors such as lymph node ratio, lymph node size, and extranodal extension do not significantly affect survival. A prognostic model based on the number of positive lymph nodes is more effective in predicting survival than the AJCC N stage.

Summary: Cancer metastasis is a malignant biological behavior that greatly contributes to cancer-related deaths. Recent evidence suggests that the interaction between tumor cells and the host organ microenvironment, as well as the epigenetic reprogramming of metastatic cancer cells, play important roles in the process of cancer metastasis. Lymph nodes serve as the initial metastatic niche for many types of cancer, and the presence of lymph node metastasis indicates poor prognosis. Various immune cells are involved in the formation of malignant properties of tumors.

Summary: Young age, tumor size, and lymphatic invasion are significant predictors of recurrence in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma; lymphocytic thyroiditis reduces MLNR in female patients; different cutoffs for MLNR should be applied based on the presence of lymphocytic thyroiditis.

Summary: Lymph nodes are important organs that control immune cells and provide a pathway for tumors to spread. Nanoparticles offer several advantages for effective lymphatic delivery, including tailored size for migration and targeting of specific cells. Existing contrast agents are not able to selectively target metastatic lymph nodes, but nanoparticles can achieve this goal. Additionally, functionalized nanoparticles can deliver anticancer drugs to metastatic lymph nodes. This review discusses the use of nanoparticles for lymphatic mapping and highlights design considerations for detecting metastatic lymph nodes. Future directions for lymph node-targeting nanoparticles are also suggested.

Summary: Patients with palpable lymph nodes have a higher risk of recurrence compared to those with nonpalpable lymph nodes; for patients with palpable lymph nodes, lateral lymph node ratio >= 0.5 and age >= 55 years are independent prognostic factors; for those without palpable nodes, age >= 55 years and tumor size >4 cm are independently predictive of worse RFS.

Summary: In this retrospective study, it was found that a metastatic lymph node (MLN) diameter greater than 1.05 cm may indicate a poorer prognosis and lower survival rate in patients with stage III colorectal cancer (CRC). Therefore, the MLN diameter may be an important indicator for predicting the prognosis of CRC.

Summary: Lymph node metastasis is an indicator of cancer invasiveness and aggressiveness, playing a crucial role in treatment decisions and prognosis. Traditional invasive methods for lymph node detection are prone to errors, while novel molecular imaging technologies offer non-invasive investigation and guidance for surgeons. This review summarizes the application of different molecular imaging modalities and probes in lymph node metastasis management, highlighting the limitations of molecular imaging for improved detection.

Summary: Lung cancer has high morbidity and mortality rates, with tumor metastasis being a significant risk factor for death. Even after complete removal of a tumor at an early stage, there is still a risk of recurrence. Lymph node micrometastasis has been found to be associated with poor prognosis, but predicting prognosis and choosing the appropriate surgical and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy options remain challenging for clinicians.
