Summary: This study investigated the effects of insulin resistance on alcoholic liver disease (ALD) and found that it exacerbates liver injury, inflammation, apoptosis, and mitochondrial dysfunction in mice exposed to ethanol. These effects may be due to increased oxidative stress and decreased antioxidant defense ability, as well as the activation of CYP2E1. These findings suggest that alcohol intake may be more harmful for individuals with insulin resistance.

Summary: The knock-down of C3G enhances the migratory and invasive ability of oval cells and increases the expression of stemness markers. It also enhances the clonogenic capacity of oval cells. The knock-down of C3G impairs HGF/MET signaling and increases TGF-beta signaling in oval cells.

Summary: Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide and its incidence is increasing. Natural compounds, such as kaempferol found in vegetables and fruits, have shown potential in cancer management with minimal side effects. Kaempferol has been proven to modulate cell signaling pathways and induce apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in cancer cells. However, more clinical trials are needed to fully explore its therapeutic role, especially in cancer treatment.

Summary: The study reveals the efficacy of kaempferol (KAE), a major bioactive component of Chinese herbal medicine, in treating premature ovarian failure (POF) and identifies the potential targets of KAE. The results show that KAE can restore the number of ovarian follicles, reduce ovarian cell apoptosis, and regulate hormone levels. These findings suggest that KAE holds great promise for the treatment of POF.

Summary: The high expression of TRPV4 is associated with poor prognosis in ovarian cancer patients. TRPV4 promotes proliferation and migration of ovarian cancer cells. The calcium-mTOR/SREBP1 signaling pathway is involved in TRPV4-mediated fatty acid synthesis and ovarian cancer progression.

Summary: The study revealed that TRIM36 acts as an anti-oncogene in lung adenocarcinoma by inhibiting cell proliferation and promoting apoptosis. Low expression of TRIM36 is associated with poor prognosis in patients. Additionally, TRIM36 is negatively correlated with RAD51 and can promote RAD1 ubiquitination. TRIM36, RAD1, and hsa-miR-376a-5p may serve as prognostic indicators and potential therapeutic targets to increase radiation sensitivity in lung adenocarcinoma patients.

Summary: This study explored the effects and mechanisms of Kaempferol (Kae) and its synergistic antitumor activities with gefitinib (Gef) on glioma. Kae inhibited cell proliferation, promoted apoptosis, induced cell cycle arrest, and inhibited migration and invasion of glioma cells. Network pharmacology analysis suggested that Kae might directly bind to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and SRC proto-oncogene (SRC). In vivo experiments demonstrated that Kae exerted great antitumor activities and enhanced the antitumor effect of Gef by inhibiting the EGFR/SRC/STAT3 signaling pathway.

Summary: High NOX4 levels are detected in human ovarian cancer samples, induced by HIF-1 alpha and IGF-1, playing a crucial role in chemotherapy and radiotherapy resistance. Knockdown of NOX4 increases sensitivity to targeted therapy and radiotherapy by reducing expression of HER3 and NF-kappa B p65, revealing a new pathway for overcoming therapeutic resistance in ovarian cancer.

Summary: Recent research has revealed the diverse cellular mechanisms underlying certain types of cancer, leading to more effective treatment options. Ovarian cancer (OC) is particularly challenging to treat, with limited options available, especially for late-stage patients. Dysregulation of miRNAs and ROS in OC plays significant roles in tumorigenesis and affects the therapeutic outcomes through their involvement in angiogenesis regulation.
