Summary: Studies have found a positive correlation between the intake of environmental endocrine disruptors and the occurrence of gastric diseases. This study investigated the effects of nonylphenol (NP) exposure on gastric inflammation and its mechanism related to the NF-kappa B/NLRP3 signaling pathway. The findings from in vivo and in vitro experiments revealed that NP exposure induced gastric inflammation and affected the expression of genes and proteins in the NF-kappa B/NLRP3 signaling pathway. These findings provide a new perspective on the mechanism of inflammatory response caused by exposure to environmental endocrine disruptors and suggest potential therapeutic strategies for treating inflammatory diseases through targeting the NF-kappa B/NLRP3 signaling pathway.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized PPy@Fe3O4 nanoparticles and found their potential in combating colorectal cancer cells. The results showed that PPy@Fe3O4 nanoparticles effectively inhibited tumor growth, migration, and invasion, while promoting ferroptosis. The experiments also revealed that PPy@Fe3O4 nanoparticles inhibited colorectal cancer cells by modulating the NF-kappa B signaling pathway. Additionally, the study discovered that Fer-1 inhibitors could reverse the changes in metastasis-associated proteins caused by nanoparticle treatment.

Summary: This study found that ITGA6 overexpression was correlated with microlymphatic vessel density in LUAD specimens. Through experiments in vitro and in vivo, it was confirmed that ITGA6 upregulation significantly enhanced lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis. Mechanistically, ITGA6 sustained NF-KB activity by binding and promoting K63 polyubiquitination of TRAF2. CNV analysis revealed ITGA6 amplification in 27.5% of LUAD tissue samples.

Summary: Chronic inflammation is associated with the development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), where resistin, an inflammatory cytokine, plays a role in promoting tumor metastasis. High resistin levels in NPC patients are positively correlated with lymph node metastasis, and resistin induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) to facilitate metastasis. The TLR4/p38 MAPK/NF-kappa B signaling pathways are involved in resistin-mediated promotion of NPC metastasis.

Summary: The NF-kappa B signaling pathway is overactivated in tumor cells, releasing inflammatory factors and promoting tumor immunosuppression and metastasis. In breast cancer cells, tetrahydrocurcumin (THC) induces apoptosis, inhibits proliferation and migration via the CYP1A1/NF-kappa B signaling pathway, and shows significant tumor growth inhibition and anti-pulmonary metastasis effects in a mouse model.

Summary: This study reveals that early-stage infection with various viruses, including influenza A virus, leads to IL-6-independent phosphorylation of STAT3 Y705, which is critical for antiviral immunity. Knockin mice with STAT3Y705F/1 mutation show suppressed antiviral response, lung tissue injury, and poor survival upon IAV infection. The phosphorylation of STAT3 Y705 restrains IAV pathogenesis by repressing excessive IFN production, and blocking the phosphorylation enhances IFN expression and potentiates IAV virulence in mice. Knockout of IFNAR1 or IFNLR1 in STAT3Y705F/1 mice protects them from lung injury and reduces viral load.

Summary: The study showed that upregulation of AHNAK2 in thyroid carcinoma tissues, especially in metastatic ones, is associated with poor prognosis. Knockdown of AHNAK2 inhibited thyroid carcinoma migration, invasion, and metastasis by reducing activation of the NF-kappa B pathway. This provides a novel target for treating metastatic thyroid carcinoma.

Summary: This study found that patients with gastric cancer undergoing radical gastrectomy have worse survival outcomes when experiencing significant loss of adipose tissue during neoadjuvant treatment. The loss of visceral adipose tissue and subcutaneous adipose tissue during treatment was associated with poorer overall survival and disease-free survival, while changes in skeletal muscle mass and body weight did not affect survival.

Summary: In a retrospective study on gastric cancer patients, factors such as age <60, histological type of poor differentiation or signet-ring cell carcinoma, and weight loss during neoadjuvant chemotherapy were identified as independent risk factors for the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Patients with weight loss >2.95% during neoadjuvant chemotherapy may have a worse chemotherapy effect. Providing timely nutritional support such as oral nutritional supplements to maintain patients' body weight is crucial for improving the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Summary: Research on predicting the sensitivity of NACT for gastric cancer spans multiple aspects including biomarkers, inflammatory indicators, and imaging assessments. While numerous studies have been conducted on biomarkers, a unified conclusion has not yet been reached. Inflammatory indicators have been shown to be associated with the survival and prognosis of patients undergoing NACT, and imaging assessments such as CT, MRI, and PET may offer unique advantages in early screening for NACT-sensitive patients through careful integration and optimization.

Summary: An increase in iodine intake has been associated with the rising incidence of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). However, lower iodine intake was found to be a protective factor for central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) in PTC, particularly in cases with tumors smaller than 1 cm. These results suggest that iodine may play a dual role in PTC development, both as an initiator and a promoter of tumorigenesis.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the clinical effectiveness and safety of iliac branch devices (IBDs) in the treatment of aortoiliac or isolated iliac artery aneurysms. The results showed high technical success rates and low incidences of pelvic ischemia with the use of IBDs. For patients suitable for bilateral IBDs, the risk of postoperative buttock claudication can be further reduced by preserving the internal iliac artery.
