Summary: This study aimed to describe the epidemiological characteristics of work-related burn injuries in a burn center in the north of Iran. A total of 429 cases of work-related burns were identified, with an increasing trend over the past ten years. Most burns occurred in the summer season and involved the upper limb, with fire and flames being the most common mechanism of injury. This research provides a basis for evaluating work-related burns, identifying the causes, and developing education and prevention programs, especially for young male workers.

Summary: This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of older adults with burns and provide suggestions for prevention and treatment. The study found that flame burns and scalds were the most common causes in elderly burn patients, with many injuries occurring at home and lacking proper emergency management. It was also observed that burn severity, etiology, pre-injury diseases, and inhalation injury were risk factors for length of stay, hospital cost, and treatment outcomes.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the epidemiology of chemical burns among patients referred to a burn center in northern Iran. It was found that male patients accounted for a higher proportion of chemical burns, with the majority aged 20-49 years. Most cases were accidental and occurred at home or workplace. Acid was the most common cause of chemical burns, and the overall mortality rate was 4.8%. Community education, restricting access to chemical substances for non-specialists, and promoting early consultation could help reduce the prevalence of chemical burns and improve outcomes.

This study analyzed the presentation and outcome of pediatric burn injury in Enugu and found that most burn injuries occurred at home, with hot liquid being the most common cause. First aid measures often included the use of raw eggs. The outcome of the burn injury was associated with various factors such as the cause of injury, depth of injury, total burn surface area, and inhalation injury.

Summary: The study found that most students prefer integrated teaching systems over traditional classroom lectures. Students believed that self-directed learning, small group discussions, problem-based learning, module exams, and subject integration were beneficial for their learning, although some also found it difficult to concentrate during one-hour lectures and believed not everyone had a fair chance to participate.
