In the northern Apennines, four representative large and deep seated landslides affecting weak rock masses have been studied before, during and after reactivation events. Semi-continuous and continuous monitoring in the 2004-2006 period included the dormancy, reactivation and suspension phases, allowing some comments to be put forward as regards the hydro-mechanical conditions that drive the reactivations. The data have highlighted the interactions between groundwater and displacement rates in different sections of the slope.
