Summary: The objective of this scoping review was to identify and describe the psychological and psychosocial constructs and outcome measures used in tendinopathy research. The results showed a large variability in constructs and outcome measures reported in tendinopathy research, which limits conclusions about the relationship between psychological and psychosocial constructs, outcome measures, and tendinopathies. There is an urgent need to develop a core outcome set in tendinopathy.

Summary: This study aimed to understand the perceptions of people with lived experience (PWLE) and healthcare providers/policy experts (P/HCPs) regarding pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing for depression. The results showed that participants' prior professional and/or personal experiences influenced their perceptions of PGx testing. Both groups emphasized the need for robust evidence and various considerations for the implementation of PGx testing in British Columbia (BC).

Summary: This study investigated the immediate effects of medially-posted foot orthoses on gait biomechanics and pain in females with greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS). The results showed that the orthoses did not immediately alter gait biomechanics or provide clinically meaningful pain reduction. Therefore, there is uncertainty regarding the clinical benefit of orthoses in the management of GTPS.

Summary: This study compared individuals with Tibialis posterior tendinopathy (TPT) to asymptomatic controls across the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) domains. It found that individuals with TPT had impairments in body structure and function, activity limitations, and participation restrictions. Treatment plans should consider these limitations in addition to body structure and function.

Summary: There is limited evidence on the cost-effectiveness of diagnostic imaging for back, neck, knee, and shoulder complaints. Decision analytic modelling studies are needed to address methodological and knowledge gaps in this area. It is important to assess the value for money of these commonly used diagnostic imaging services.

Summary: This study compared the effectiveness of patient advice plus heel cup (PA) alone, PA plus lower limb exercise (PAX), and PAX plus corticosteroid injection (PAXI) in improving self-reported pain in patients with plantar fasciopathy. The results showed a significant difference favoring PAXI over PA after 12 weeks (p=0.023) and over 52 weeks (p=0.045). However, no significant differences were found between PAX and PAXI, or between PA and PAX at any time.

Summary: This population-based cohort study investigated the association between the use of immunosuppressive and immunomodulatory agents (IIAs) and severe COVID-19 outcomes. The study found that the current use of MMF and glucocorticoids was associated with an increased risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes compared to non-use of these agents.
