The study of behaviors of ionic current rectification (ICR) in organic solutions with quartz nanopipettes is reported. ICR can be observed even in organic solutions using quartz pipettes with diameters varied from several to dozens of nanometers, and the direction of ICR is quite different from the ICR observed in aqueous phase. The influences of pore size, electrolyte concentration, and surface charge on the ICR have been investigated carefully. Water in organic solutions affects the direction and extent of ICR significantly. Mechanisms about the formation of an electrical double layer (EDL) on silica in organic solutions with different amount of water have been proposed. An improved method, which can be employed to detect trace water in organic solutions, has been implemented based on Au ultramicroelectrodes with cathodic differential pulse stripping voltammetry.

Summary: A method utilizing a vapor-assisted chlorination strategy to synthesize low-dimensional CsPbCl3 thin films exhibiting deep-blue emission is reported, achieving high-quality perovskite thin films with low surface roughness and efficient charge transfer properties. This enables the fabrication of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers with low lasing thresholds and showcases the prospect of increasing the range of deep-blue laser sources.

Summary: The study focuses on the trans-interfacial behaviors of multiple ionic species at the interface between two immiscible electrolyte solutions, demonstrating the effectiveness of utilizing host-guest interaction to facilitate ion transfer. The facilitated ion transfer process of dendrimers at the microinterfaces is investigated, revealing selective coordination between dendrimers and ligands. The mechanism of the FIT process is proposed, suggesting a deprotonation process at the interface for higher-generation dendrimers.

Summary: The all-inorganic nature of CsPbI3 perovskites enhances stability in perovskite devices. Inorganic ligand exchange leads to CsPbI3 QD films with superior phase stability and increased thermal transport. LEDs with KI-exchanged QD films exhibit increased thermal transport and higher operating stability compared to control devices.

Summary: This study introduces a new type of perovskite quantum dots that remain stable in a thin layer of precursor solution and utilize strained QDs as nucleation centers to drive homogeneous crystallization. These new materials show suppressed Auger bi-exciton recombination and bright luminescence under high excitation, leading to primary red LEDs with significantly enhanced performance compared to control materials.

Summary: By using a fluorinated triphenylphosphine oxide additive to control cation diffusion and passivate surfaces, the efficiency and operating lifetimes of perovskite light-emitting diodes have been improved. Although reduced-dimensional perovskites show promise in increasing stability and photoluminescence quantum yield, challenges such as lower EQEs and inferior color purities remain.

Electrochemical Study of Ion Transfers Processes at the Interfaces between Water and Trifluorotoluene and Its Derivatives

Junjie Liu, Xinhe Zheng, Yutong Hua, Jintao Deng, Peng He, Zhengyou Yu, Xianhao Zhang, Xiaohong Shi, Yuanhua Shao

Summary: Suitable organic solvents play a crucial role in electrochemical studies at liquid/liquid (L/L) interfaces. This study measured the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of simple ion transfer at the water/trifluorotoluene (W/TFT) interface using micro- and nanopipettes voltammetry. The research also explored ions with transfer potentials close to the potential window ends and developed two novel L/L interfaces for studying various ion transfer reactions. Compared to traditional organic solvents, the W/TFT and its derivatives interfaces showed lower toxicity, better stability, and wider potential windows, making them preferable choices in electrochemical studies at L/L interfaces.
