Summary: The INTEGRA study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a specially designed multicomponent health care intervention in improving glycaemic control in poorly controlled type 2 diabetes patients. The intervention group showed a significant reduction in HbA1c values compared to the usual care group at 12 months, and more patients in the intervention group achieved target blood glucose levels.

Summary: Clinical trials have shown that oral probiotics intervention can improve the management of T2DM by promoting a healthy gut microbiome. Studies have demonstrated improvements in glycemic and lipid parameters, but there is inconsistency among the studies, possibly due to differences in probiotic composition, duration, and dose. Co-administration of metformin and probiotics can enhance glycemic control in T2DM patients. The overall positive findings and minimal adverse effects support further high-quality clinical trials.

Summary: This study tested the effectiveness of different frequencies of weekly structured exercise in improving diabetes control. The results showed that the thrice-weekly exercise group demonstrated improvements in HbA1c levels at 6 months in the per-protocol analysis. However, there was no significant difference in HbA1c change in the intention-to-treat analysis. Future efforts should focus on improving adherence to thrice-weekly structured exercise programs.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether health education and lifestyle management delivered through a WeChat group chat was more effective in controlling blood glucose in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) compared to standard clinical prenatal care. The results showed that using WeChat for health education and lifestyle intervention tended to be more effective for blood glucose control than standard clinical prenatal care alone.

Summary: This study aimed to assess whether multiple imputation (MI) is required prior to using longitudinal linear mixed-models (LLM) when analyzing longitudinal cost and effect data. The results showed that LLM, MI-LLM, and MI-SUR outperformed other strategies in terms of costs and effects. MI-LLM and MI-SUR performed better than LLM for costs at 10% and 25% missing data. However, at 50% missing data, all strategies resulted in relatively high errors for costs.

Summary: This study aims to compare the differential (cost)-effectiveness of three individual psychotherapies (short-term psychodynamic supportive psychotherapy, affect phobia therapy, and schema therapy) for Cluster-C personality disorders. The study population consists of 264 patients aged 18-65 years seeking treatment at a Dutch mental health care institute. The primary outcome measure is the change in the severity of the PD, and secondary outcome measures include personality functioning, psychiatric symptoms, and quality of life. This study is important for improving the quality of care for this vulnerable group of patients.

Summary: The study aimed to develop and validate approaches for mapping Oswestry Disability Index responses to 3-level version of EQ-5D utility values and evaluate their impact on cost-utility results compared with published regression models. Three response mapping approaches were developed and their performance was assessed. The results suggest that the developed approaches are not valid for estimating individual patients' utility values and may significantly affect cost-utility results.
