Summary: This study established score conversions between MoCA 5-min and CPS/CPS2 in a large cohort of Hong Kong older adults with mild physical or cognitive impairment, revealing that CPS and CPS2 are more suitable for measuring severe cognitive impairment while MoCA 5-min is better suited for measuring mild impairment.

Summary: This study identified three distinct memory-related phenotypes in patients with mild cognitive impairment related to Parkinson's disease (PD-MCI) through cluster analysis. These phenotypes were associated with motor and non-motor features as well as patients' quality of life. The findings contribute to understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying PD-MCI and its subtypes and guiding appropriate treatments.

Summary: The study aimed to validate the domain-specific scores of MoCA and explore their utility in discriminating different etiologies of early NCDs. The results showed that MoCA domain scores correlated well with equivalent constructs of neuropsychological tests and could help differentiate different etiologies of early NCDs.

Summary: Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a common non-motor symptom in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD), but lacks consistent diagnostic criteria. Different types of cognitive impairments have different progression rates. This review provides an overview of the diagnostic criteria for PD-MCI and the heterogeneity of patients' cognitive function.

Summary: Through FAQ assessment, it was found that PD-MCI patients had more difficulties with tax records and traveling, while AD-MCI patients were more impaired in managing finances and remembering appointments. The classification accuracy of the FAQ differed between MCI related to PD and AD.

Summary: This study aimed to compare gait patterns in PD-MCI subtypes to verify the association between specific gait features and particular MCI subtypes. The results showed that gait patterns were poorer in PD-MCI patients compared to those without MCI, and multiple-domain PD-MCI and amnestic PD-MCI were associated with worse gait patterns.

Summary: The aim of this study was to use supervised machine learning to determine a gait pattern that could distinguish Parkinson's Disease patients with and without mild cognitive impairment. 80 PD patients underwent gait analysis in three different conditions and ML algorithms were used. SVM and RF showed the best performance, accurately detecting MCI in over 80.0% of cases. Key features include stance phase, mean velocity, step length and cycle length.

Summary: Cognitive impairment is common in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and is associated with altered functional connectivity patterns in the theta frequency bands of brain regions such as the PMFG. Abnormal functional connectivity in PMFG may serve as reliable biomarkers for identifying cognitive impairment in PD patients.

Summary: This study found that there are different bile acid profiles between patients with PD-MCI and PD-NC. Lower levels of CDCA, CA, and UDCA were significantly associated with PD-MCI and may be distinct bile acid signatures for patients with PD-MCI.

Summary: This study found that low serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels after mild acute ischemic stroke (AIS) were associated with a higher risk of cognitive impairment. This suggests that SOD may be a potential modifiable factor for post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI).

Summary: This study systematically reviews models that aim to provide patient-specific predictions of pre-treatment rebleeding risk in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The reported discriminative performance of the models varied, and no model showed consistently low bias risk and clinical applicability in all domains. Only one model was formulated using a patient cohort that underwent contemporary, evidence-based aneurysm treatment practices, but this model lacked calibration or clinical utility.

Summary: This study retrospectively reviewed the clinical characteristics and outcomes after surgical revascularization for adult Moyamoya disease (MMD) in a Southeast Asian cohort. The incidence of postoperative transient ischemic attack (TIA)/stroke was 25.9%, with most cases occurring within 7 days postoperatively. Risk factors for 30-day postoperative TIA/stroke included a higher number of preoperative TIAs/strokes and indirect revascularization.
