Summary: There is a growing environmental crisis with declining global biodiversity and the increasing introduction of species. This study investigates the impact of invasive species on litter ant communities in natural ecosystems using a dataset spanning 54 years in Florida, USA. The results show a decline in native species and an increase in introduced species, leading to changes in the composition of rare and common species. The study also reveals that introduced species are more likely to be polygynous and form supercolonies, which correlate with their increasing abundance over time. If current trends continue, over half of the litter ant communities in Florida will be dominated by introduced species in the next 50 years.

Summary: Biological invasions pose significant challenges ecologically and economically. This study focuses on the possibility of invasive genotypes being reintroduced into a species' native range and the potential consequences. The results suggest that invasive individuals generally outperform native individuals in the native range, indicating that the potential for invasion in a species' native range is underestimated when only tested under controlled conditions. The findings highlight the importance of understanding the factors driving these differences and minimizing the risk of detrimental population dynamics in the species' home range.

Summary: A new host-parasite relationship of H. dollfusi was discovered in Northeast Argentina, with a strong preference for Oligoryzomys species. The parasite distribution seems to extend from Venezuela to North Corrientes in Argentina, but has not been reported in the Atlantic Forest regions of Argentina and Brazil.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the physical activity levels of Native Americans using the FITT-VP principles, and compare the patterns of physical activity between men and women. The majority of Native Americans met the recommended physical activity guidelines, but there is a need for interventions to improve moderate- and vigorous-intensity aerobic fitness, as well as muscular strength and endurance, neuromotor, and flexibility activities.

Summary: This study evaluated the chemical composition and physicochemical parameters of oil produced by argan trees introduced in Oujda City and compared them with oils produced in the natural biotope of the trees in northeast and southwest Morocco. The results showed no significant difference in quality and chemical composition between the introduced argan trees and those in their natural habitat. This highlights the adaptability of the argan tree to different climatic and soil conditions.

Summary: Contact zones provide a unique opportunity to study ecological divergence, reproductive barriers, and gene flow between species. The study on two-lined salamanders used RADcap data to investigate gene flow and ecological divergence in replicate contact zones, showing little to no gene flow between the species and strong ecological segregation among larvae in streams. This reinforces previous conclusions of the evolutionary distinctiveness of the two species and highlights the importance of ecological factors in shaping local distributions.
