Corncob was treated by dilute H2SO4. The hydrolysate contained 45.7 g sugar/l. Without concentration or adding other nutrients, the hydrolysate, after being detoxified by overliming and adsorption with activated charcoal, was used for oil production using Trichosporon cutaneum. After 8 days' growth in shake-flasks, the biomass was 22.1 g/l with a lipid content of 36%. The lipid yield per mass of sugar was 17.4% (w/w). Corncob thus is a promising raw material for microbial oil production by this yeast.

Collaborative Reflection-Augmented Autoencoder Network for Recommender Systems

Lianghao Xia, Chao Huang, Yong Xu, Huance Xu, Xiang Li, Weiguo Zhang

Summary: As deep learning techniques are applied to real-world recommendation tasks, many deep neural network based Collaborative Filtering (CF) models have been developed. However, most existing models are not well equipped to handle missing data. In this paper, we propose a Collaborative Reflection-Augmented Autoencoder Network (CRANet) that can leverage both observed and unobserved user-item interactions to improve recommendation performance. We also introduce a robust joint training algorithm using regularization-based tied-weights. Experimental results show that debiasing negative signals improves the performance compared to state-of-the-art techniques.

Analysis of Vehicle Driving Stability based on Longitudinal-lateral and Vertical Unified Dynamics Model

Fei Lai, Chaoqun Huang, Xin Ye

Summary: In this paper, a unified dynamics model with 18 degrees of freedom for vehicle chassis is constructed. The influences of factors such as front wheel steering angle, road adhesion coefficient, braking mode of front and rear wheels, and initial speed on vehicle driving stability are analyzed. Furthermore, the influence of uneven road on vehicle driving stability is studied using phase plane and bifurcation analysis methods for the first time.

Comprehensive analysis of PD-L1 in non-small cell lung cancer with emphasis on survival benefit, impact of driver mutation and histological types, and archival tissue

Chin-Chou Wang, Kuo-Tung Huang, Huang-Chih Chang, Chia-Cheng Tseng, Chien-Hao Lai, Jui Lan, Ting-Ting Liu, Chao-Cheng Huang, Meng-Chih Lin

Summary: The study aimed to assess PD-L1 expression in NSCLC patients with different histological types, EGFR and ALK status, and tumor tissue storage time. There were trends or significant differences in PD-L1 expression among these subgroups, with a higher survival benefit observed in patients without PD-L1 expression in EGFR and ALK mutation patients.

Construction of double cross-linking PEG/h-BN@GO polymeric energy-storage composites with high structural stability and excellent thermal performances

Rui Jing, Huanzhi Zhang, Chaowei Huang, Fucai Su, Bojing Wu, Zongxu Sun, Fen Xu, Lixian Sun, Yongpeng Xia, Hongliang Peng, Xiangcheng Lin, Bin Li, Yongjin Zou, Hailiang Chu, Pengru Huang, Erhu Yan

Summary: Double cross-linking networks were constructed in PEG-based polymeric SSPCMs by introducing GO and hydroxylated h-BN, which improved the phase-change behavior and thermal conductivity. The SSPCMs exhibited good phase-change properties, excellent thermal reliability, and high thermal conductivity. The study represents a creative strategy for the development of SSPCMs for thermal energy storage and management applications.

On Joint Reconstruction of State and Input-Output Injection Attacks for Nonlinear Systems

Tianci Yang, Carlos Murguia, Chen Lv, Dragan Nesic, Chao Huang

Summary: This study addresses the problem of robust state reconstruction for discrete-time nonlinear systems when the actuators and sensors are injected with potentially unbounded attack signals. By exploiting redundancy in sensors and actuators and using a bank of unknown input observers (UIOs), the proposed observer-based estimator is capable of providing asymptotic estimates of the system state and attack signals under the condition that the numbers of sensors and actuators under attack are sufficiently small. Methods for isolating the compromised actuators and sensors are provided using the proposed estimator.
