Summary: The hydrogen bond cooperativity in the beta-sheet of GB3 protein is investigated using a NMR hydrogen/deuterium exchange method. It is found that weakening one hydrogen bond perturbs other neighboring hydrogen bonds, with three being cooperative and one being anticooperative. This hydrogen bond cooperativity plays a significant role in the stability and conformational coupling of the beta-sheet.

Summary: This study theoretically investigated the HER catalytic mechanism of oxygen-terminated D-MXenes and highlighted the superior performance of Mo-based D-MXenes compared to Cr-based D-MXenes. The results suggest that constructing a sandwich-like configuration can improve the HER performance of M-MXenes, paving the way for designing efficient MXene-based HER electrocatalysts.

Summary: It was found that highly regioselective H/D exchange could be achieved on the alpha-position of the pentafluorophenyl (Pfp) ester using Et3N as the catalyst and D2O as the deuterium source. This method provides mild reaction conditions and high reactivity, allowing the synthesis of important bioactive alpha-deuterio carboxylic acid derivatives.

Summary: This passage discusses the behavior of different classes of flavonoids during hydrogen/deuterium exchange processes. Detailed kinetic measurements were reported using H-1-NMR spectra at different temperatures, leading to the proposal of a unifying reaction mechanism. Molecular modeling and QM calculations were also conducted to provide further insights into the proposed mechanism.

Summary: This study investigates the acidity of external and internal Bronsted acid sites in nanosponge-like MFI zeolites through experimental and theoretical modeling approaches. The results reveal that the exchange kinetics at external BAS is faster than at internal BAS, influenced by subtle differences in the corresponding activation barriers and pre-exponential terms.

Summary: The expression of CAND1 is reduced in NAFLD male patients and HFD-fed male mice, and it alleviates lipid accumulation by inhibiting the degradation of ACAA2. Enhancing the function of CAND1 is a promising strategy for the development of a therapeutic agent for NAFLD.

Summary: Natural bioactive compounds (NBCs) are important for medical applications, but the lack of commercial isotopic labeled standards has limited their quantitation reliability in bio-samples. This study optimized a 16O/18O exchange reaction for preparing stable and affordable 18O-labeled standards. The use of 18O-labeled internal standards improved the accuracy and precision of NBCs quantitation in pharmacokinetics analysis, providing a reliable strategy for pharmaceutical research with NBCs.

Summary: A new method for deuterating (hetero)aryl bromides using Ag2CO3 as catalyst and D2O as deuterium source is disclosed in this study, which is highly efficient and easy to manipulate. In comparison to traditional multistep syntheses, this method allows for one-step deuterium labeling of various bioactive druglike molecules and key intermediates of functional materials. Additionally, this method demonstrates unique site-selectivity in comparison to existing transition-metal-catalyzed processes, leading to multideuterated (hetero)aryl bromides in one step.

Summary: Superelectrophilic silylium/arenium ions are effective in exhaustivedeuteration of electron-deficient aryl halides. Using inexpensive C6D6as the deuterium source, excellent degrees of deuteriumincorporation were achieved under ambient conditions. This method allows the preparation of expensive or noncommercially available NMR solvents.

Summary: The disclosed silver catalyzed H/D exchange reaction allows deuterium atom introduction at the beta position of thiophene rings without the need for coordinating groups, operating in open air and using D2O as the deuterium source. It shows good tolerance to various functional groups and achieves high atom% deuterium incorporation. Furthermore, this reaction can be applied for direct deuteration of a thiophene based monomer, eliminating the need for multistep synthesis from expensive deuterated starting materials.

Summary: In this study, a highly selective electrochemical sensor for detecting BPA in water using H+-exchanged alpha-MnO2 was developed. The sensor showed high sensitivity and a low limit of detection, as well as stability and reproducibility. It exhibited high selectivity towards BPA and can be used for health safety purposes.

Summary: Solvent-assisted ligand exchange in Zr-MOF UiO-67 led to the synthesis of mixed MOFs UiO-67-TpTp and UiO-67-TzTz with lower BET specific surface area but maintained thermal stability. These MOFs show potential as sensors for contaminants of emerging concern in water, with UiO-67-TzTz also exhibiting adsorption capabilities.

Summary: Ni-Zr0.82Y0.18O1.91 (YSZ) and Ni-La0.90Sr0.10ScO2.95 (LSS) cermets were studied for solid oxide and protonic ceramic electrochemical cells using H/D isotope exchange method. Three parallel channels of hydrogen surface exchange were found in both cermets, with the mechanism being temperature independent in Ni-YSZ but more complex in Ni-LSS at lower temperatures. Hydrogen spillover was identified as the rate-determining step in both cermets. The mechanism of hydrogen oxidation on the Ni-LSS electrode differed from that of the Ni-YSZ electrode, changing with temperature and more complex at lower temperatures.

Summary: The study synthesized two isotopomers of teriflunomide using isotopically labeled precursors and studied their E/Z ratio in different matrices through NMR experiments. It was found that in solution, a dynamic equilibrium between E/Z-isomers was observed. Advanced NMR techniques were used to investigate the E/Z ratio of teriflunomide under in vivo conditions, providing insights into its structural characteristics.
