Summary: Controlling the binding of functional organic molecules on quantum dot surfaces is crucial for understanding the resulting organic-inorganic hybrid behavior. In this study, the binding of tetracenedicarboxylate ligands on PbS quantum dots was varied through solid-state ligand exchange. Different ligand concentrations led to different structures and properties, with low concentrations resulting in mixed ligand structures, intermediate concentrations resulting in ligand-ligand interactions through hydrogen bonding, and high concentrations resulting in complete ligand exchange.

Summary: A novel approach to Salmonella detection using quantum dot labeled phage-encoded RBP 55 as a fluorescent nanoprobe is reported in this study. The method combines immunomagnetic separation and RBP 55-QDs to form a sandwich composite structure for the detection of Salmonella. The results show a good linear correlation between fluorescence values and Salmonella concentration, with a low detection limit of 2 CFU/mL within 2 h. The method has been successfully used to detect Salmonella in spiked food samples and could potentially be used for the simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens in the future using polychromatic QDs labeled with different phage-encoded RBPs.

Summary: The ligand engineering of quantum dots is crucial for improving the performance of QD light-emitting diode displays. This study demonstrates that exchanging an organic ligand with an inorganic ligand can enhance stability and efficiency of QLED devices. The thinner ligand layer improves carrier injection efficiency, resulting in improved external quantum efficiency and device lifetime.

Summary: This research demonstrates control of pyroelectricity in nanocrystalline systems by constructing a system built from spherical PbS quantum dots that can self-assemble into close-packed arrays or disperse into a polymer, both exhibiting a pyroelectric response. The polarization of each quantum dot can be easily tuned by constructing different Janus-ligand shells.

Summary: Targeted protein degradation (TPD) technology has become a focus of attention for researchers due to its potential as a new therapeutic modality and selective removal of various protein targets. Specifically, LYsosome TArgeting Chimera (LYTAC) has emerged as a promising technology for degrading extracellular protein targets, using the cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor (CI-M6PR) to deliver them to lysosomes. This study successfully utilized the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR) expressed on liver cells, with the ligand triantennary N-acetylgalactosamine (tri-GalNAc), to target extracellular proteins for degradation, demonstrating cell type specificity in liver cell lines.

Summary: In this study, a stabilization strategy for PbS CQD gas sensors is proposed by using atomic-ligand engineering. The sensitivity and long-term stability of the PbS CQD gas sensor towards nitrogen dioxide (NO2) are remarkably improved by replacing the oleic acid ligands with halide ligands. The mechanism behind these improvements is investigated through various analysis methods.
