Summary: Oral cancer is a significant public health concern with a negative impact on society. Despite advancements in treatment, the survival rate for oral cancer remains low, and the underlying molecular mechanisms of OSCC carcinogenesis are not fully understood. Noncoding RNAs, such as microRNAs and long ncRNAs, play important roles in cancer cell development. Understanding the relationship between ncRNAs and different types of cell death is essential. Manipulating ncRNA expression offers potential for controlling the occurrence and development of oral cancer. This review aims to explore the impact of ncRNAs on cell death and identify potential targets for oral cancer therapy.

Summary: CA extracted from cinnamon has shown antiviral and anti-tumor effects, including inhibiting proliferation, invasion, and migration, inducing apoptosis, and suppressing tumor growth in NSCLC. Through the ceRNA network, key genes SOCS1, BTG2, and BTK were identified as playing essential roles in CA against NSCLC.

Summary: Recent advances have highlighted the importance of non-coding RNAs, particularly microRNAs, in cancer pathogenesis. These ncRNAs have shown potential for therapeutic development in cancer, with early data from pre-clinical studies demonstrating promising results in human trials. While miRNAs have been extensively studied, there is ongoing research to uncover the molecular mechanisms and therapeutic targets of other lesser studied ncRNAs in cancer treatment.

Summary: Gastric cancer is a deadly malignancy with largely unknown molecular mechanisms. Recent research has shown that ncRNAs play crucial roles in gastric carcinogenesis, particularly in tumor immune escape, drug resistance, and stemness. Further studies are needed to elucidate the complex relationships between ncRNAs and gastric cancer for clinical applications.

Summary: Recent research has shown that non-coding RNAs play crucial roles in regulating both selective and non-selective autophagy, with abnormal expression impacting autophagy and contributing to carcinogenesis. Understanding the regulatory roles of ncRNAs in autophagy may offer valuable therapeutic targets for cancer management.

Summary: Extracellular vesicles, particularly exosomes, are key players in intercellular communication, with a specific focus on their role in pancreatic cancer. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) within these vesicles are of increasing interest as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for pancreatic cancer, yet their precise functions within cancer exosomes remain unclear.

Summary: This study analyzed small non-coding RNAs (sncRNAs) in patients with gastrointestinal cancer and found dysregulation of muscle-specific microRNAs in cancer-induced muscle wasting. The study also discovered an association between changes in circulating microRNAs and the level of muscularity at body composition analysis. SncRNAs in muscle were assessed by RNAseq, while circulating microRNAs were evaluated by qPCR.

Summary: Metastasis in cervical cancer is not well understood, with non-coding RNAs playing diverse roles in this process. Dysregulation of miRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs is associated with metastasis. They regulate metastasis by influencing metastasis-related genes, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, signaling pathways, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Summary: Colorectal cancer is a common and deadly cancer worldwide, and small nucleolar RNA SNORD1C has been identified as a potential noninvasive tumor biomarker for the diagnosis of CRC. High expression of serum SNORD1C is associated with poor tissue differentiation and high CEA levels in patients with CRC, and combining SNORD1C with CEA improves the predictive value for CRC diagnosis. High SNORD1C expression is closely linked to unfavorable outcomes in CRC patients.
