Summary: Inflammation is a defensive immune response to external stimuli, but uncontrolled inflammation can be potentially harmful. Previous studies have discovered that small molecules with antioxidant activity can inhibit inflammation. DhHP-6, a new peroxidase mimic peptide, was found to have anti-inflammatory activity in vitro and in vivo. Treatment with DhHP-6 reduced the production of reactive oxygen species and inflammatory molecules in cells and blocked key signaling pathways. In addition, DhHP-6 treatment reduced immune cell infiltration in animal models. Therefore, DhHP-6 is considered a potent inhibitor of inflammation.

Summary: This study found that low expression of TP53INP2 is associated with poor survival in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. As the malignancy of CRC progresses, TP53INP2 expression gradually decreases. Knockdown of TP53INP2 promotes CRC cell proliferation and tumor growth. Mechanistically, TP53INP2 deficiency decreases phosphorylation of beta-catenin, leading to increased accumulation and enhanced nuclear translocation and transcriptional activity. Additionally, TP53INP2 sequesters TIM50, inhibiting its activation of beta-catenin. In conclusion, downregulation of TP53INP2 promotes CRC progression by activating beta-catenin.
