Summary: The study aimed to replace traditional in-person instructor feedback with tele-instructor supported peer feedback to reduce infection risk and improve the quality of BLS skill learning. The results confirmed the non-inferiority of this approach in terms of learning performance compared to the traditional method, and no COVID-19 infections were found among the participants.

Summary: Children are more likely to experience cardiac arrest due to hypoxic-ischemic conditions. Early ventilation plays a vital role in pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the European Resuscitation Council recommends five initial rescue breaths (IRB) for infants. This study aimed to verify this recommendation and found that performing five IRB attempts during infant CPR increased the success rate of delivering two effective ventilations.

Summary: The organization is dedicated to periodic review and revision of care standards based on the National Model EMS Clinical Guidelines. Equipment items are differentiated into BLS and ALS levels, checked against recommended scopes of practice, and considered optional at the local level. All EMS service programs are advised to carry appropriate equipment and supplies as determined by the medical director and agency's protocols.

Summary: This study examined the characteristics of Danish BLS course participants. Since the implementation of a law mandating BLS course participation when acquiring a driver's licence in 2009, approximately 44% of the adult population has participated in a BLS course. BLS participants are commonly younger, healthier, and more likely to live in rural areas.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of simulation-based BLS training program on the knowledge of Palestinian nurses at governmental hospitals. The study found that the nurses' knowledge significantly increased after applying the simulation-based training program. This provides significant evidence for the positive effects of BLS training program and recommends advanced BLS training for healthcare providers in hospitals and healthcare centers.

Summary: The role of advanced life support (ALS) and basic life support (BLS) in pediatric trauma is debated. This study aimed to determine if ALS transport provides a survival advantage over BLS for severely injured children. The results showed that ALS care was not associated with lower mortality rates compared to BLS care.

Summary: This study investigates the ideal group size for effective teaching of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, indicating that instructors' ability to detect errors decreases with larger groups. The recommended maximum instructor-to-participant ratio for correcting over 80% of errors is 1:6 in CPR courses.

Summary: This study evaluated the number of hand hygiene instances during CPR and the possibility of completing them without delaying other life-saving techniques. The results showed that a significant proportion of hand hygiene indications, especially those with high impact on patient safety, could be accomplished without compromising the quality of acute care.

Summary: The study found that nurses' baseline knowledge and skills in providing BLS in the pediatric department of the main public tertiary care hospital in Rwanda were poor but could be improved through focused training. However, a decline in knowledge and skills was observed six months later, highlighting the importance of debriefing and refresher courses following resuscitation events.

Summary: The unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-COV-2 virus has raised new challenges for the management of cardiac arrest victims and the safety of CPR providers, emphasizing the need to consider limited resources and potential risks of healthcare professionals contracting the virus. Decision-making in resuscitation processes now requires taking into account the outcomes for patients with Covid-19 and cardiac arrest, as well as the risk of healthcare professional shortages due to potential infections.

Summary: This review examines the effectiveness and feasibility of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in low gravity conditions. The study finds that adequate CPR quality can only be achieved under increased physical stress to compensate for the loss of functional weight in low gravity environments. Light-weight rescuers may face difficulties in maintaining the required compression depth. Alternative techniques in the straddling position should be further investigated in low gravity conditions.

Summary: Since Gagarin's historic spaceflight in 1961, the number of manned spaceflights has increased significantly while incidents and accidents have decreased. Over the past six decades, the number of days spent in space has continuously risen, and the fatality rate has decreased. The most dangerous phases of spaceflight are launch, landing, and staying in orbit. With greater international cooperation and the maintenance of the International Space Station (ISS), manned spaceflight has become safer.
