Summary: The copolymerization of melamine-based benzoxazine resin (MBF) with epoxy resin E51 was carried out to improve the dielectric properties. It was found that the active functional groups in MBF could catalyze and copolymerize with E51, forming uniform copolymers poly(MBF-E) at various proportions. With the increase of epoxy resins, the water absorption and polarity of the copolymers decreased, and the dielectric constant decreased from 3.67 for poly(MBF) to 2.94 for poly(MBF-60E). Additionally, the tensile strength and elongation at break values increased significantly due to the higher crosslinking density and more flexible ether bond formed.

Summary: In this study, a glutaraldehyde-assisted crosslinking strategy was developed to prepare crosslinked regenerated cellulose (CRC) films, and the effects of different crosslinking methods on the dielectric and mechanical properties of the films were investigated. The CRC films showed reduced defects and enhanced intermolecular interaction compared to common RC films. With a glutaraldehyde concentration of 6 vol% and a crosslinking time of 30 min, the CRC film exhibited the lowest dielectric loss and the highest breakdown strength, as well as high tensile strength and excellent tensile modulus. This work provides new insights for tailoring the properties of cellulose films and has significant implications for the fabrication of high-performance cellulose-based dielectric materials.

Summary: Crosslinking of polyolefin-based polymers can improve their thermal and mechanical properties, and polymer blending can further enhance these properties, making the material suitable for various applications. In this study, HDPE/EVA/PU blends were prepared by radiation crosslinking to improve the thermal and mechanical properties of HDPE, demonstrating better thermal stability, strength, and abrasion resistance than non-crosslinked HDPE.

Summary: This study examined a spray binder and preforms made with the binder and non-crimp carbon fiber textiles. The spray process was analyzed and compared to other binder systems through T-peel and three point flexural tests. While the spray binder demonstrated higher peel strength, its flexural strength was lower than that of powder binder systems.

Summary: A novel fluorinated epoxy resin (FB-EP) with 45.7 wt% fluorine content was synthesized, and the cured FB-EP materials exhibited lower moisture absorption and dielectric constant compared to common diglycidol ether epoxy resin (BADGE). This research provides a foundation for further exploration of FB-EP as advanced electronic materials.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of adding milled carbon fibers and single-wall carbon nanotubes on the mechanical and physical properties of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers. It was found that single-wall carbon nanotubes significantly improved static strength and fatigue performance, while milled carbon fibers enhanced properties under static loading but negatively impacted fatigue properties.

Summary: This study focuses on the production of bio-based fluorinated epoxy resin SA-BTB-EP and its composite with DDM. The results showed that SA-BTB-EP/DDM exhibited improved storage modulus, carbon residue, dielectric properties, and hydrophobicity compared to DGEHBA/DDM. Moreover, the inclusion of a Schiff base structure in SA-BTB-EP led to enhanced flame retardancy and reduced combustion byproducts.

Summary: In this study, the tensile behavior of a flexible epoxy resin reinforced with knitted reinforcements from various fiber materials was comprehensively investigated. The results showed that the knitted structure had a significant impact on the deformation behavior of the flexible composites, with high local strain differences observed in the course direction. In the wale direction, the knitted structure led to plastic deformation of the matrix material. Yarns from recycled thermoplastic fibers exhibited higher maximum stress and strain at break compared to bio-based fibers, but irreversible damage occurred for all fiber materials at similar strain values.

Summary: In this study, chemically cleavable groups were introduced into a bis-diazirine crosslinker, allowing the efficient introduction of molecular crosslinks that can be uncoupled by specific chemical inputs. This method provides a potential strategy for circularization of the thermoplastic/thermoset plastics economy and enables the introduction of functionality into non-functionalized commodity polymers.
