Summary: The study evaluated the use of a commercial blend of functional oils containing cashew nutshell liquid and castor oil as growth promoters in newly weaned piglets. Supplementation with functional oils significantly improved daily weight gain and feed conversion ratio in the first weeks of the experiment, leading to higher final live weight compared to the control group. Both probiotics and functional oils were effective in promoting beneficial microbiota essential for intestinal health, with functional oils showing better reduction of pathogenic bacteria.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the effects of dietary Litsea cubeba essential oil (LEO) supplementation on various aspects of weaned piglets. The results showed that high-dose LEO supplementation improved growth performance, immune function, antioxidant level, intestinal morphology, and microbial composition. LEO supplementation also increased the concentration of short chain fatty acids in the cecum and colon.

Summary: The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of Litsea cubeba essential oil (LCO) on the growth performance, blood antioxidation, immune function, apparent digestibility of nutrients, and fecal microflora in fattening pigs. The results showed that adding 250 mg/kg LCO in the diet of pigs improved their growth performance, blood physiological and biochemical indicators, antioxidant level, and nutrient digestibility. LCO also showed potential as a replacement for chlortetracycline (CTC).

Summary: This study demonstrates that adding appropriate SPL supplementation in early-weaned piglets can improve growth performance, histological indices, and gene expression levels related to mucin secretion and local inflammation. Furthermore, SPL supplementation increases the population of beneficial bacteria Prevotella and its short-chain fatty acid production, leading to a reduced occurrence of diarrhea in piglets after weaning.

Summary: The study showed that replacing high-dosed zinc oxide with zeolite-supported zinc oxide reduced diarrhea rate, improved serum biochemical indicators, increased serum total protein levels, and regulated intestinal microflora in weaned piglets. However, this replacement did not significantly affect growth performance and intestinal morphology.
