Summary: In this study, a method for extraction and separation of tamsulosin hydrochloride and its related substances from core-shell structure pellets capsules was established. The method was validated and proved to be effective and accurate through forced degradation experiments. This method has potential applications in the evaluation of related substances, routine quality control, and extraction of other core-shell structure pellets capsules.

Summary: This study aimed to prepare xanthan gum microspheres using ionotropic gelation for the encapsulation of metformin hydrochloride. The obtained microspheres, based on different fractions of xanthan gum, showed an average size ranging from 110.96 μm to 208.27 μm. The encapsulation efficiency reached 93.11% at a 1.25% biopolymer concentration. The swelling study demonstrated significant swelling in the gastric and intestinal environments, with release profiles showing sustained release kinetics.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the interaction between cation exchange resins and verapamil hydrochloride. Uptake studies showed that the resin with the lowest cross-linking had the highest uptake capacity. XRD, SEM, and particle size analysis confirmed the amorphous nature of the drug-resin complexes. Release studies demonstrated that conventional dissolution testing did not maintain sink conditions and that increasing the volume of samples withdrawn and fresh dissolution medium added significantly increased the drug release. The diffusion of exchanging cations through the liquid film was determined to be the rate-limiting step.

Summary: Metformin-loaded PLA microparticles showed promising characteristics in terms of physicochemical properties and potential therapeutic benefits in rabbits, with improved pharmacokinetic profiles observed. However, the impact on bioavailability should be carefully considered for future dose and formulation design, especially before testing in other animal species in veterinary medicine.

Summary: A simple electrochemical method was developed for the determination of Loperamide hydrochloride (LOP). The method showed high sensitivity and good analytical performance. It was successfully applied to determine LOP in its pure form, pharmaceutical formulation, in the presence of co-administered drugs and in human plasma. The newly fabricated carbon paste electrode modified with silver sulfadiazine and zinc oxide exhibited excellent electrochemical properties. The proposed method was validated and found to be environmentally friendly.

Summary: This study developed a novel expandable film based on hydroxypropyl methylcellulose K4M/ethyl cellulose for prolonged retention of losartan potassium in the stomach. The film significantly altered the pharmacokinetic parameters of the drug and its active metabolite, as demonstrated by in vivo and in vitro experiments.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a method for obtaining a sustained-release formulation of naltrexone using a lipid liquid crystal-based approach. The results showed that the new method using sorbitan monooleate was effective in sustaining the release of naltrexone and had better uniformity compared to existing formulations. The study also confirmed the biocompatibility of the new delivery system.

Summary: The study aimed to prepare a clonidine hydrochloride sustained-release suspension. The results showed that the suspension had a delayed Tmax, reduced Cmax, and a gentler concentration-time curve compared to ordinary tablets. The relative bioavailability of the suspension was 111.65% compared to the tablets.

Summary: The objective of this study was to explore an innovative sustained release technology and design a new microporous resin-based polymer device (RPD) for controlled release of glipizide (GZ). The results showed that the resin layer prepared by photocurable resin can effectively control the release of GZ and exhibit excellent in vitro release and in vivo pharmacokinetic properties.

Summary: In this study, donepezil-loaded PLGA and PLA microspheres were prepared and wrapped in a polyethylene glycol-b-polycaprolactone hydrogel to reduce the dosing frequency of injections for Alzheimer's disease treatment. The Dp-PLA-M/PC formulation showed good injectability and sustained release pattern, making it a promising choice for reducing the dosing frequency of Dp injections.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the pharmacokinetic characteristics of enteric-coated sustained-release (EcSr) aspirin tablets with enteric-coated (Ec) aspirin tablets in healthy Chinese participants. The results showed that EcSr aspirin tablets had less inter-individual variation in release and absorption, and meals had no significant effect on their pharmacokinetics.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a sustained release formulation of donepezil hydrochloride (DH) using the hot-melt extruded solid dispersion technique. By rational screening of hydrophobic carriers, the release profile of DH was successfully modified, and a preferable release pattern was obtained by optimizing the ratio of carriers and pore-forming agents as well as the extrusion temperature profile.
