Summary: Anionic phospholipids phosphatidylserine (PS) and phosphatidylglycerol (PG) have anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activities, but PEGylation of PS and PG liposomes did not effectively prolong circulation time and led to increased uptake in the spleen.

Summary: In this study, liposomal formulations of both PEGylated and non-PEGylated Cyclosporine A (CsA) were prepared using a remote loading procedure to improve the tissue distribution and therapeutic efficacy of CsA. The liposomes demonstrated physicochemical stability, high drug encapsulation efficacy, and improved immunosuppressive efficiency in vitro and in vivo. They also extended the drug half-life and improved tissue distribution in animal studies. Additionally, the liposomes reduced delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction and delayed skin allograft rejection compared to CsA. Further research is required to translate this formulation into clinical applications.

Summary: This study evaluates the lamellar phase properties of lipid nanoparticles containing phosphatidylcholine and lysophosphatidylserine. The results show that lysophosphatidylserine affects the lipid packing and dynamics of the particles, and its inclusion leads to different biophysical characteristics compared to a system with double-chain phosphatidylserine. The study also finds that lysophosphatidylserine-containing nanoparticles are taken up more efficiently by immune cells in the gut, potentially influencing their oral tolerance properties.

Summary: The study found that OMLs with diameters of 1000 and 800 nm induced strong Th1 immune responses in mice, while OMLs with diameters of 400 and 200 nm failed to do so. Additionally, OMLs with diameters greater than 600 nm were necessary to induce Th1 immune responses against OML-encased antigens, although smaller OMLs could activate MNPs.

Summary: This study provides a novel method for combining alkaline hydrothermal treatment and co-blending modification granulation process to achieve the upgrading recycling of Br-containing waste plastics. The results show that the bromine concentration in the plastics can be effectively reduced, and the physical properties of the co-blended plastics remain stable, making them suitable for applications. The reuse of waste plastics also contributes to carbon reduction.

Summary: This study reports a nanoparticle system based on phosphatidylserine (PS) liposomes for targeted delivery of IL-10 to microglia/macrophages in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). The results show that PSL-IL10 treatment significantly improved outcomes and accelerated hematoma resolution in the acute phase of ICH. PSL-IL10 also inhibited glial activation and down-regulated pro-inflammatory cytokine production.

Summary: This article presents a new method for synthesizing ACC NPs in ethanol and explores methods for stabilizing these nanoparticles in aqueous media. By optimizing the process, the mass concentration of ACC NPs can be increased and the amount of ethanol required can be reduced, thereby reducing the ecological impact of the process. In addition, using a natural egg-sourced phospholipid as a stabilizer improves process efficiency.

Summary: This study found that administration of TLR agonists in PEGylated liposomes can lead to the production of high levels of anti-PEG antibodies, which in turn cause accelerated blood clearance and acute hypersensitivity reactions. This highlights the importance of carefully designing nanoparticle delivery systems for immunotherapy to avoid anti-nanoparticle immune responses.

Summary: RGD-PSLs enhance immunomodulatory effects by promoting phagocytosis of PSLs by macrophages, especially with 3% RGD content. RGD-PSLs are more effective in suppressing lipopolysaccharide-induced proinflammatory cytokine gene expression and CD86 expression compared to PSLs. RGD also promotes M2 polarization induced by PSLs.
