Summary: A signal on-off fluorescence sensor based on self-assembled DNA tetrahedron was developed for the simultaneous detection of OTA and AFB1. The fluorescence intensity changes were used for the quantitative analysis of OTA and AFB1, with detection limits as low as 0.005 ng/mL and 0.01 ng/mL. The sensor demonstrated universal applicability and could be applied in various fields such as corn and wine.

Summary: Mycotoxins, toxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi, can contaminate foods and feeds, posing a risk to consumers due to their toxicity and carcinogenicity. This report presents a case in a certified antibiotic-free laying hen farm, where the concurrent action of aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A caused production decrease and increased mortality. Pathologic examinations revealed severe kidney degeneration, liver lesions, hypoplastic ovary and oviduct, and signs of anemia. Aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A were detected in linseed-added foodstuff and organs. This case emphasizes the importance of careful feedstuff checks in quality-oriented poultry farms to prevent contaminations that can harm animal welfare and public health.

Summary: This study develops a time-resolved detection method to spectroscopy single Er3+ ions in silicon nanotransistors using resonant excitation. The fast decay and tunable reset of the single ion detection allows for faster repetition, making it attractive for implementing in large-scale quantum systems. The findings also provide an important basis for detecting other single optical centers in solids.

Summary: Innovations in CMOS SPAD technology have contributed to the development of advanced instruments for TRFS. These instruments can collect fluorescence intensity and fluorescence lifetime information across a broad spectral range with high resolution. We introduce MuFLE, a computational method that efficiently utilizes multi-channel spectroscopy data to estimate emission spectra and spectral fluorescence lifetimes simultaneously. Furthermore, we demonstrate that this approach can extract individual spectral characteristics from mixed samples.

Summary: This study presents a novel setup for combined small-angle X-ray scattering/X-ray diffraction/X-ray absorption fine structure (SAXS/XRD/XAFS) to obtain multiple structural information simultaneously. The setup employs different detectors for measuring SAXS, XRD, and XAFS signals. The use of a minitype diamond detector coupled to a SAXS beamstop enables compatible measurements of scattering and absorption signals without mechanical switching. Two-way and high-frequency sampling strategies are implemented to shorten non-counting time and improve measurement efficiency and signal-to-noise ratio. The rotation of the monochromator is the only mechanical movement during measurements, allowing for time resolutions within seconds. This combined setup offers the potential to track the structure evolution in complex fluids.
