Summary: The study demonstrates that a single intra-articular injection of the new HA derivative hydrogel, Hymovis MO.RE., provides significant efficacy and safety in improving knee function, pain, and quality of life for adult regular sports players with osteoarthritis. No severe adverse events were detected, indicating it may be a viable therapeutic option for this patient subgroup. Further investigations are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: This study found that intra-articular injections of hybrid hyaluronic acid (HA) complexes can significantly improve pain, disease severity, cardiopulmonary function, and quality of life in overweight patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Additionally, it can help control pain by reducing analgesic intake.

Summary: Musculoskeletal diseases, such as osteoarthritis and tendinopathies, have a significant impact on society and individuals' quality of life. Intra-articular hyaluronic acid (HA) has emerged as a safe and effective treatment option for these conditions, providing multiple benefits such as lubrication, anti-inflammation, and stimulation of cellular activity. This review addresses the scientific, commercial, and clinical aspects of HA, providing physicians with a deeper understanding of disease processes, tissue repair mechanisms, and the advantages of different HA types.

Summary: This study found that injecting IAHA within 6 months prior to THA in patients with hip osteoarthritis may increase the risk of periprosthetic joint infection. While there were no significant differences in clinical outcomes and other complications, the rates of PJI and postoperative wound infections were higher in the injection group.

Summary: This systematic review analyzed the efficacy and safety of HA intra-articular injection after arthroscopic knee surgery and compared the efficacy of HA with different molecular weights. The results showed that HA injection after surgery does not have a clear effect on pain relief and functional recovery, and its application is not recommended.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of intra-articular injections of glucocorticoid, hyaluronic acid, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), or placebo in patients with mild or moderate knee osteoarthritis (OA). The results showed that glucocorticoid, PRP, or hyaluronic acid injections did not have superior short- or long-term effects compared to placebo in patients with low pain level and early- to middle-stage knee OA.

Summary: The study showed that a single injection of CHAP-HA is more effective and safe in knee osteoarthritis patients compared to three injections of linear HA, with pain relief effects lasting up to 52 weeks. CHAP-HA was found to be more preferable for patients with more severe OA, and repeat treatment or use of CHAP-HA after a three-injection HA was proven to be safe.

Summary: In this study, hyaluronic acid (HA) was conjugated with dopamine to form HADN, which exhibited adhesive properties while retaining viscosity enhancement capacity. It was found that HADN could enhance cartilage lubrication through adsorption onto collagen, providing better protection for cartilage compared to HA alone.

Summary: This study optimized the formulation of intra-articular injectable hyaluronic acid gel-core vesicles loaded with diacerein (DCN) through a full factorial design, achieving high entrapment efficiency and small particle size. The prepared DCN-loaded hyaluosomes showed superior function in preventing cartilage damage and inflammation in rats with induced arthritis, demonstrating their potential as a novel intra-articular injection for osteoarthritis management.
