Summary: We report a case of a 57-year-old man with prostate cancer who underwent radical prostatectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy. Two years later, the patient presented with mild lower limb swelling and underwent lower limb lymphoscintigraphy. The lymphoscintigraphy showed prominent dermal backflow in the area of the right hypogastrium in the superficial lymphatic system, and reflux in the left hypogastrium in the deep lymphatic system. This discrepancy in findings can be explained by asymmetric sampling of the lymph nodes during the lymphadenectomy.

Summary: Compared to patients with isolated DVT, those with concomitant SVT in lower-limb deep vein thrombosis have a higher risk of subsequent pulmonary embolism, but no significant differences in rates of recurrent DVT, major bleeding, or death.

Summary: This study compared the clinical characteristics and 90-day outcomes of cancer patients with lower-limb isolated superficial vein thrombosis (SVT) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and found that the risk for subsequent venous thromboembolism (VTE) was similar in both groups.

Summary: This study found an association between the degree of left common iliac vein compression and the characteristics of first diagnosed left lower extremity deep vein thrombosis. A greater compression percentage was associated with more proximal location and severe clot extent.

Summary: May-Thurner syndrome is a disease caused by compression of the left common iliac vein, which can lead to DVT. Prompt diagnosis and treatment are crucial to prevent thrombus recurrence in patients with lower limb swelling and discomfort. Treatment options include catheter-directed thrombolysis, stenting, and long-term anticoagulation therapy.

Summary: The present study evaluated the prevalence and risk factors of postoperative lower limb deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in Thai gynecologic patients. The prevalence of postoperative DVT was 5%, and the independent risk factors were elderly patients and receiving a perioperative blood transfusion.

Summary: Vascular boot warming as an adjunct to standard care is safe and effective in improving clinical outcomes of patients with lower extremity DVT, reducing pain and swelling, decreasing the incidence of pulmonary embolism and proximal DVT, lowering mortality, without increasing the risk of major bleeding.

Summary: This study found that PICC insertion increases the risk of LEDVT and significantly elevates the level of D-dimer in patients. In patients with PICCs, D-dimer is not suitable for excluding venous thrombosis.

Summary: It has been shown that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LINC00659 is upregulated in the peripheral blood of patients with deep venous thrombosis (DVT). This study aims to investigate the function of LINC00659 in lower extremity DVT (LEDVT). The results demonstrated that LINC00659 is upregulated in IVC tissues and isolated EPCs of patients with LEDVT, and its knock-down promotes EPC proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis ability.

Summary: The study explored the association among gender, serum uric acid (SUA), and isolated distal deep vein thrombosis (IDDVT) in stroke patients. Male patients had higher SUA levels and lower risk of IDDVT, while female patients had lower SUA levels and higher risk of IDDVT.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of scan delay and patient factors on contrast enhancement and examination quality in CTV. The findings showed that after 120 seconds, there were no significant differences across scan delays, and no patient factors were associated with TPCE.

Summary: Superficial venous thrombosis (SVT) has traditionally been considered a relatively benign condition, but recent literature suggests potential benefits of anticoagulation in certain cases. Despite updated clinical guidelines for treatment, there is still a lack of guidance on imaging superficial veins in the evaluation of venous thrombosis.

Summary: The study found that the incidence of DVT in patients with pelvic fractures before and after surgery is high, with age, fracture classification, and D-dimer levels being risk factors for preoperative DVT, while age and blood transfusion are risk factors for postoperative DVT.
