Summary: This study evaluates a randomized controlled trial for psoriasis, where dermatology nurses provide regular long-term support. The intervention showed an increase of 0.08 QALYs per patient with an incremental cost of £462, resulting in a cost-effectiveness ratio of £5999/QALY. At a willingness-to-pay threshold of £30,000 per QALY, the intervention had an almost 100% probability of being cost-effective.

Summary: This study investigated patient adherence to self-applied topical interventions for actinic keratosis (AK) and explored factors associated with adherence. The study found that approximately 46.9% of patients were non-adherent to the treatment plan, and only 30.9% of patients used the topical treatments according to the summary of product characteristics (SmPC). Patients who received sufficient pre-treatment consultation and were well-informed were more likely to comply with the treatment requirements.

Summary: Mild to moderate psoriasis is commonly treated with topical therapy. This article reviews literature on topical treatments that have been evaluated in clinical trials and real-life studies lasting at least 12 months. The use of calcipotriol/bethamethasone dipropionate foam as maintenance treatment can improve the efficacy and safety of topical therapy in psoriatic patients. Introducing new nonsteroidal topical drugs and adopting proactive therapy appear to be crucial for achieving satisfactory long-term outcomes in psoriasis.

Summary: The psychological treatment of comorbid post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance use disorder (SUD) is challenging and often ineffective. Trauma-focused therapy and integrated cognitive behavioural therapy (ICBT) have shown modest improvements in PTSD, but engagement in treatment is a common issue, and overall treatment effects are limited.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a significant burden on the general population, with the accumulation of various risk factors associated with higher levels of depressive and anxiety symptoms. This study aimed to identify different risk profiles and examine differences in symptom levels among German participants. The findings revealed three risk profiles, with individuals in the high sociodemographic risk group reporting significantly higher levels of depression and anxiety symptoms. Understanding risk factor profiles can facilitate the development of targeted prevention and intervention programs during pandemics.
