A continuum theory predicting the static stability and the on-setting motion of certain kinds of block structures in a realistic manner, can only by established using a Cosserat-approach. In former papers only the static stability of a very restricted group of such structures was treated. New results of this type and, additionally, multi-body-simulations and an appropriate Cosserat-model for plane systems is presented and discussed.
