Summary: Supervised exercise programs are of interest to MBC patients, who prefer individualized programs and supervision from professionals. They have positive attitudes towards exercise but face physical limitations and insecurities that hinder their participation. Group training with social interaction is seen as a facilitator. Flexible training modules are considered helpful to enhance program adherence.

Summary: This study explored how people with SSc experience cognitive changes and how cognitive difficulties impact their functioning. The results showed that cognitive difficulties had a substantial negative impact on the lives of the participants. Improved understanding of cognitive changes could help develop therapeutic interventions or educational programs to reduce the impact of cognitive difficulties in people with SSc.

Summary: Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a disease characterized by skin and internal organ fibrosis, vascular modifications, and autoimmunity. It predominantly affects women and has heterogeneous clinical presentations and courses. The pathogenesis involves genetic predisposition, environmental factors, and epigenetic modifications that lead to immune-inflammatory dysregulation and abnormal cell behavior. Myofibroblasts play a crucial role in the disease by promoting fibrosis and matrix deposition. Other cell types, such as pericytes, platelets, and keratinocytes, are also involved. T cell subsets and autoantibodies contribute to fibroblast and endothelial cell dysfunction. Recent studies have revealed heterogeneity in SSc cell differentiation and functional states. Understanding the heterogeneity and pathogenic mechanisms will aid in developing personalized therapeutic approaches.

Summary: As the European organic market grows, consumers seek trusted, sustainable, and environmentally friendly products. Research has shifted to Asia despite organic food fraud in Europe. This study compared consumer trust in organic meat and vegetables across Germany, Italy, Poland, and the UK, revealing differences in trust and beliefs in organic produce authenticity. Consumers generally trust certified organic food but preferences vary by country. Germany and the UK show room for improvement in the organic food market.

Summary: This study uses Data Envelopment Analysis to analyze the leading and lagging regions in the transition towards sustainable municipal waste management in Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The results show that regions in Germany and the Netherlands have made more progress in reducing landfill and increasing recycling rates. Conversely, regions in Italy and France have lower performances but are gradually improving. It is suggested that regions with very low waste collection volumes should accelerate the process and a burden-sharing system might be advisable.

Summary: A study conducted in the Nordic countries between 2006 and 2018 found that the median age of 181 patients diagnosed with acquired haemophilia A (AHA) was 76 years old, with an even gender distribution. The type and severity of bleeding was similar to previous studies, and activated prothrombin complex concentrate (aPCC) was the main treatment with a high success rate of 91%. Corticosteroid monotherapy was commonly used for immunosuppressive therapy, resulting in a slightly lower overall clinical remission rate compared to previous studies.

Summary: The study found that 52.5% of participants use antibiotics for treating neonatal calf diarrhea, with 27% always using them, and 45% using highest priority critically important antibiotics. The most significant influencing factor was the country of the participants, possibly due to regulatory differences between countries. The research also highlights the urgent need for scientific evidence to define best practices for treating neonatal calf diarrhea.

Summary: Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare chronic autoimmune disease characterized by microvascular damage, immune dysregulation, and fibrosis. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is frequently associated with systemic sclerosis (SSc-ILD) and leads to a poor prognosis and high mortality rate. The BUILDup study aimed to investigate disease management and estimate the social and economic burden of SSc-ILD across 8 European countries.

Summary: The study demonstrated that very early systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients are a heterogeneous group with mild or early disease, showing diverse clinical presentations. Some patients may have long-standing mild disease, and there was no difference in clinical features at initial presentation between patients with potentially progressive disease and those with long-standing mild disease. These findings highlight the importance of considering the heterogeneity of very early SSc patients for risk stratification and study design.

Summary: Working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic did not show clinically relevant changes in neck pain intensity and disability. The number of work breaks and hours spent at the computer were found to have a greater effect on neck pain than the place of work or workstation ergonomics. Further research should investigate the impact of social and psychological factors on neck pain among office workers.

Summary: SSc is a chronic autoimmune rheumatic disease with histopathological hallmarks including vasculopathy, fibrosis, and autoimmune phenomena. Purinergic signalling pathway may play a role in the pathophysiology of SSc, exacerbating vasculopathy and immune dysregulation, while also promoting organ and tissue fibrosis. Targeting purinergic signalling could offer new therapeutic options for SSc.

Summary: Despite ongoing research, the exact underlying processes of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) are still not well understood. This systematic review examines potential cutaneous biomarkers in CRPS and identifies the implications for various pathophysiological processes and skin morphology. The findings suggest involvement of inflammation, vascular dysregulation, small fiber neuropathy, and hypersensitivity. Additionally, skin morphology changes, including neurite loss, disturbed mast cell migration, and increased expression of alpha 1-adrenoceptors on keratinocytes, were observed. These results provide a foundation for future developments in diagnosis and potential therapeutic targets for CRPS Type I patients.

Summary: Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is an autoimmune disease characterized by fibrosis of the skin and internal organs, as well as impaired microvascular function. This study aimed to determine the frequency of arrhythmias and conduction disturbances in SSc patients and identify associated characteristics and risk factors. The most prevalent arrhythmias were premature supraventricular and ventricular contractions, while right bundle branch block (RBBB) was the most frequent conduction disturbance. Elevated levels of N-terminal prohormones of brain natriuretic peptides (NT-pro BNP) were associated with various atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, as well as the occurrence of RBBB. A lower turbulence slope (TS) value was found to be an independent predictor for ventricular arrhythmias.
