Summary: This study investigated the value of serum tumor markers and inflammation-related biomarkers in the differentiation of pancreatic serous cystic neoplasms (SCNs) and pancreatic mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs). The results showed that CA199 and LA had good efficiency in the differential diagnosis of SCNs and MCNs.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the application value of serum markers in selecting the timing of surgery for neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). By retrospectively analyzing the clinical data of 150 NEC patients, it was found that serum markers such as CRP, PCT, IL-6, I-FABP, and SAA were significantly higher in the operation group compared to the nonoperation group. Multivariate logistic regression and ROC curve analysis confirmed that these serum markers have certain guiding values in the choice of operation opportunity for NEC.

Summary: This study systematically evaluated the prognostic prediction accuracy of radiomics features extracted from pre-treatment imaging in patients with PDAC. The results showed a significant correlation between first-order entropy and OS, suggesting the potential of improving PDAC prognosis prediction. However, existing studies were poorly validated, and further validation is needed in future research.

Summary: Developed nomograms based on single serum hCG measurement enable early prediction of post-molar GTN and MTX resistance, with identified cut-offs at 97.5% specificity for additional treatment or adjustments. These nomograms have good to excellent ability to distinguish patient outcomes and assist in counseling for CHM patients.

Summary: The study investigated the validity of quad serum markers for predicting adverse pregnancy outcome in women with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS). Elevated levels of AFP, hCG, and inhibin A were associated with higher rates of adverse pregnancy outcomes, especially stillbirth. ROC curve analysis showed high predictive value of these markers for APO in APS women.

Summary: The study aimed to compare the efficacy of weekly MTX regimen and MTX-FA 8-day regimen in the first-line treatment of low-risk GTN. The results showed that MTX-FA 8-day regimen had a significantly higher complete response rate compared to the weekly MTX regimen, and treatment resistance may develop especially in patients with lung metastasis.

Summary: Although systemic sclerosis (SSc) is characterized by specific autoantibodies associated with each subset, our study indicates that there is sometimes inconsistency between the disease subsets and the specific autoantibodies. Larger studies on the immunological profile in SSc are needed to further understand this relationship.

Summary: This prospective clinical study aimed to evaluate the vascularization characteristics of low-risk gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) using Doppler imaging and to develop a predictive model for resistance to methotrexate (MTX). The Doppler-based predictive model, combining a non-invasive marker of tumor vascularity with the FIGO scoring system, can differentiate cases with low from those with high probability of developing MTX resistance, providing a potential guide for treatment options in patients with low-risk GTN and myometrial invasion.

Summary: Chemotherapy for metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has limited benefits and predicting response is challenging. This study found that patient performance status, tumor burden, plasma protein biomarkers, and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) are associated with treatment outcomes and overall survival in metastatic PDAC patients. Changes in plasma biomarkers can predict survival outcomes, while the role of ctDNA in guiding treatment needs further exploration.

Summary: Personal factors, particularly psychological and psychosocial factors, are positively associated with post-stroke participation. Environmental factors, such as support, relationships, and positive attitudes towards patients, are major facilitators of participation, along with physical environment and accessibility to appropriate services. Most of these factors are modifiable and should be addressed to improve patient participation.

Summary: The study found that in the first year after a stroke, patients' productivity losses and informal care costs represent a significant economic burden for society, comparable to direct costs. These costs should be considered in economic evaluations to avoid underestimating the societal stroke economic burden.

Summary: The objective of this study was to develop a pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) model linking everolimus and sorafenib exposure with biomarker dynamics and progression-free survival (PFS). The study found a correlation between sorafenib plasma exposure and soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (sVEGFR2) dynamics. The simulated dosing schedule of sorafenib 200 mg bid 5 days-on/2 days-off + continuous everolimus 5 mg qd showed a higher median PFS compared to the EVESOR trial.

Summary: Mathematical modeling of early CA-125 kinetics can be used as an indicator of rucaparib efficacy in recurrent ovarian carcinoma patients. The KELIM-PARP score is associated with treatment response and progression-free survival. This study suggests the potential use of this strategy in selecting patients for PARPi-based treatment regimens.
