Summary: The sole method available for the photocycloaddition of unconjugated aliphatic alkenes is the Cu-catalyzed Salomon-Kochi reaction. A new catalyst system with superior reactivity and photostability has been designed, offering significantly expanded substrate scope and highlighted through the preparation of the natural products sulcatine G and perforatol.

Summary: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly aggressive form of breast cancer with high metastasis rates due to multidrug resistance. While platinum-based antitumor agents have severe side effects, nickel and palladium complexes are being investigated as potentially safer alternatives. Among these, palladium derivatives have been found to be safer and effective inhibitors of TNBC cell adhesion and migration.

Summary: Replacing the ligands in dysprosium single-molecule magnets with a different type leads to larger energy barriers to magnetization reversal. The distances between the ligands in the new complexes suggest a different crystal field splitting. Theoretical analysis shows that the magnetic axes in the ground Kramers doublets are oriented towards the new ligands. Introducing new parameters allows for comparisons between different single-molecule magnets, indicating the potential for improved performance in the new system.

Summary: A tunable synthesis of 1,4,5-trisubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles and enamines through [3+2] cycloaddition of activated olefins and organic azides is reported. Triazoles were obtained from benzylidene diketones and organic azides using copper oxide nanoparticle catalysis, while enamines were synthesized from benzylidene malonates and organic azides under solvent-free and catalyst-free conditions.

Summary: A Ni-catalyzed silylacylation of alkenes is introduced, providing rapid access to beta-silyl ketones by combining alkenes, CIZnSiR3, and acid chlorides. The method involves a catalytic intermediate of [Ni]-SiR3 complex, which is rare for three-component alkene functionalization. The synthetic utility of the products is demonstrated, along with detailed mechanistic descriptions.

Summary: The selective Markovnikov hydrosilylation reactions of terminal alkynes with tertiary silanes using a dicobalt carbonyl N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complex as catalyst presented in this study, provide an efficient method for synthesizing alpha-vinylsilanes with good functional group compatibility and high alpha/beta selectivity. Mechanistic study revealed the formation of dinuclear cobalt alkyne and mononuclear cobalt silyl complexes during the reactions, with the mono(NHC) dicobalt complex exhibiting higher catalytic activity over di(NHC)-dicobalt complexes.

Summary: In this study, a N-heterocyclic carbene-Ni-I catalytic species was used to achieve highly substituted alkenes from abundant monosubstituted substrates with excellent regio- and stereoselectivities. Trimethylsilyl triflate and trimethylamine additives were added to mediate the reaction, resulting in the generation of trisubstituted boron- and arene-containing trans alkenes. This method represents a significant addition to the toolbox of reactions for the concise synthesis of unsaturated biologically active compounds.

Summary: A new oxyalkynylation/cycloaddition reaction has been reported to synthesize complex polycyclic structures under mild conditions, with high efficiency and atom economy. The obtained products can be applied as chiral ligands for metal catalysis, providing a new method for organic synthesis. Computational studies provided a first rationalization of the low activation energy for the cycloaddition reaction based on counter-intuitive favorable dispersive interactions in the transition state.

Summary: A series of diamidophosphite-sulfides with diverse structures were synthesized from 1,2-thioether alcohols. These hemilabile ligands showed the ability to form both P,S-chelates and complexes with two ligands connected to the metal P-monodentately when binding with Pd(II). Their structures were confirmed by 2D NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The ligands exhibited high asymmetric induction in Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitutions and allylic alkylations.

Summary: The addition of MeOLi promotes the ring opening of the aza-nickelacycle intermediate and facilitates hydride transfer from the methoxy group to nickel, enabling the reductive coupling of alkenes with imines. This pathway involving the reductive transformation of saturated aza-nickelcycles allows for highly selective C-C bond formation.

Summary: The potential of ruthenium(II) compounds as an alternative to platinum-based clinical anticancer agents has been unveiled. Studies have shown that ruthenium compounds can be highly effective in treating cisplatin-resistant cell lines, including triple-negative breast cancer. Research indicates that certain ruthenium compounds with fluorophores have a preferential accumulation in the endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, and lysosomes.
