Summary: A copper complex with N,N'-bis(2-amino-3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)-2,2'-diaminobiphenyl as ligand was synthesized and characterized. The paramagnetic complexes 1 and 1(2+) were identified through EPR and Vis-NIR spectroscopy. Both complexes exhibited NIR bands assigned to ligand-based charge transfer transitions.

Summary: Metal complexes with nitrido ligands have attracted attention in scientific research, and a nitrido(corrolato)chromium(V) complex has been studied for its unique properties. The complex exhibited characteristic vibrational and electronic transitions, and also underwent intermetal N atom transfer reaction with a chloro(porphyrinato)chromium(III) complex.

Summary: Transition metal phosphides, specifically PSS-PPy/Ni-Co-P, have been shown to exhibit highly efficient hydrogen evolution reaction performance in neutral-pH electrolyte, with remarkable activity and stability achieved through conductivity, hydrophilicity, and electronic structure optimization. This research paves the way for the design of low-cost, high-efficiency, and stable electrocatalysts for HER in neutral-pH electrolyte.

Summary: In this study, the effects of two chemical modifications and different solvents on the spin-crossover behavior in high-spin iron(II) complexes were investigated using solution NMR spectroscopy. The research revealed that with the recent design of substituents, the first iron(II) complex of N,N'-disubstituted 3-bpp can undergo almost complete spin-crossover in a less polar solvent.

Summary: In this study, we disclosed the easy reduction of pyridine (and its derivatives) by linear 3d metal(I) silylamides, resulting in intermolecular C-C coupling to form dinuclear metal(II) complexes. Iron was found to demonstrate reversible C-C coupling in solution, and the dinuclear metal(II) complex incorporating iron facilitated isomerization of 1,4-cyclohexadiene. Furthermore, reactions of silylamides with perfluoropyridine led to C-F bond cleavage and the formation of metal(II) fluoride complexes.

Summary: Five charge transfer complexes of electron donor N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine with quinoid electron acceptors were prepared and studied. X-ray crystallography, impedance spectroscopy, and DFT computations were employed in the investigation. Mixed donor-acceptor pi-stacks were observed in all compounds. All moieties had a partial radical character due to charge transfer.

Summary: This study revealed a series of tantalum(IV) compounds produced through reactions with different ligands and ligand substitutions, accompanied by the release of molecular hydrogen. Similarly, DFT calculations elucidated the N=N cleavage mechanism and demonstrated that the ditantalum(IV) fragment can promote two-electron reductions of the N=N bond at two different metal-metal bond splitting stages.

Summary: N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) react with carbodiimides (CDIs) to form betaine adducts with tunable properties, whose stability depends on substituents on CDI nitrogens and configuration is influenced by NHC substituents. Despite being in the early stages, these adducts have been utilized as ligands for transition metals and nanoparticles, as connection points in zwitterionic polymers, and to stabilize distonic radical cations.

Summary: The reaction of potassium metal with sulfurtriimide gives a deep blue cage radical that has been previously difficult to obtain. Physical characterization reveals the existence of an unpaired electron delocalized within the cage, coupled with nitrogen and potassium atoms. X-ray structure analysis further elucidates the structural arrangement of the radical cage species.
