Summary: The study compared naproxen sodium and hydrocodone plus acetaminophen in post-surgical pain management, finding that naproxen sodium was more effective in reducing pain intensity and providing pain relief in the first 12 hours, and was better tolerated.

Summary: This study found that MSIR combined with Acetaminophen can be an alternative to Oxycodone combined with Acetaminophen for acute pain relief in the Emergency Department. The two treatment options showed similar efficacy in pain relief, but the MSIR group exhibited lower drug likeability.

Summary: The analgesic efficacy and safety of DFN-15, a new oral liquid formulation of celecoxib, were evaluated in the treatment of acute pain in adult patients after dental surgery. The study showed that DFN-15 was superior to placebo in reducing pain intensity, providing pain relief, increasing treatment satisfaction, and reducing the use of rescue medication, without apparent dose-related effects.

Summary: Studies have shown that INF is effective in reducing pain scores in pediatric patients with sickle cell disease (SCD) and in adult patients with chronic pain conditions. However, there is limited research on the use of INF in adult SCD patients with acute pain. This study compared the effectiveness of INF with IV morphine in treating acute pain in adult SCD patients, and found that INF provided similar pain reduction compared to IV morphine.

Summary: This study aimed to enhance the delivery of macromolecular drugs across ovine nasal epithelial tissues by incorporating piperine into chitosan microparticle formulations. Two distinct sizes of chitosan microparticles were prepared using ionic gelation, demonstrating a promising approach for nasal drug delivery of poorly bioavailable drugs.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the non-inferiority of intravenous morphine alone versus intravenous morphine combined with paracetamol for pain management in the emergency room. The trial will determine the clinical utility of the combination of paracetamol with morphine in the emergency room.

Summary: The study aimed to explore whether the addition of intravenous ibuprofen before tonsillectomy can reduce the need for early postoperative analgesics. The results showed that the addition of IV ibuprofen can significantly reduce the requirement for rescue fentanyl, indicating that IV ibuprofen is a safe and effective component for postoperative pain control in children.

Summary: This study compared the analgesic efficacy and safety of intranasal ketamine to intravenous morphine in older adults with musculoskeletal pain in the emergency department. The results showed that intranasal ketamine provided a comparable analgesic effect to intravenous morphine, with mild adverse effects and a low incidence of rescue analgesic treatment.

Summary: This study aimed to fabricate a nano-formulation for treating chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis using the analgesic effects of doxepin and chitosan's antimicrobial and bio-adhesive properties. Nanogel was successfully prepared and characterized, and it showed promising results in reducing mucositis symptoms. Therefore, chitosan-based doxepin nano-formulation may be a promising alternative for routine treatments of oral mucositis.
