In the direct-competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (dc-ELISA) approach, an ochratoxin A-horseradish peroxidase (OTA-HRP) synthesized conjugate was utilized. Fluorescence studies revealed that when excited at 333nm, the OTA-HRP conjugate shifted in fluorescence from 438nm to 444nm. At the 295-nm excitation wavelength, the tryptophan emission peak blue-shifted from 326nm to 318nm. Western blot analysis revealed that anti-OTA antibodies specifically binds and recognize the OTA-HRP conjugate. The dc-ELISA showed an IC50 value of 400ng/L and a linear working range (LWR) value between 100 and 1500ng/L. The ELISA results were confirmed with high-performance liquid-chromatography (HPLC) analysis to assess the potential of the OTA-HRP conjugate.

Summary: The study constructed a symmetric micro-supercapacitor by co-depositing molybdenum disulfide nanoflakes and poly-naphthalenemethylamine on micro-patterned palladium current collectors over a plastic substrate. The polymer/MoS2 nanocomposite provided the framework necessary for charge transport and ion intercalation, resulting in high volumetric capacitance. By using a PVA-H2SO4 solid gel electrolyte, a 3.1 V potential window was achieved, showing potential for further improvement of the MSC's performance.

Graphitized porous silicon decorated with cobalt hexacyanoferrate nanocubes as hybrid electrode for high-performance supercapacitors

Irina-Nicoleta Bratosin, Cosmin Romanitan, Gabriel Craciun, Nikolay Djourelov, Mihaela Kusko, Marius C. Stoian, Antonio Radoi

Summary: In this work, a scalable route to wafer-size processing for fabrication of hybrid nanocomposite electrodes based on cobalt hexacyanoferrate/carbon/porous silicon (CoHCF/C/Si) is reported. The fabricated symmetric supercapacitor device exhibits excellent volumetric capacitance, power density, and energy density, as well as good cycling stability. The successful integration of CoHCF nanocubes with carbonaceous and silicon material using electrochemical methods results in synergistic effects over the electrochemical performances.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that human oncoviruses account for 10% of cancer cases worldwide. PCR assays are highly sensitive and specific, while microarrays offer excellent performance for detecting multiple targets simultaneously. However, accurate detection of DNA viruses in microarray systems depends on the platform used, and obtaining high-quality fluorescent-labelled single-stranded DNA is equally important.
