Summary: Reversed-phase HPLC is commonly used in MS-based proteomics for peptide separation, with particle-packed capillary columns being predominantly used in nanoflow HPLC systems. Despite capillary columns being a standard for many years, they are expensive and have short lifetimes, leading many laboratories to produce their own in-house packed columns.

Summary: This study conducted a detailed profiling of non-anthocyanin phenolic fractions from 'Karaerik' table grape, revealing a high number of phenolic compounds and evaluating their antioxidant properties. Proanthocyanidins were found to be abundant in seeds with higher antioxidant capacity. These findings provide valuable information for promoting the varietal identity and health-related properties of this grape.

Summary: This study used HPLC/LTQ-Orbitrap-MS to comprehensively profile and compare the lipids in six different cultivars of beans. The results showed that soybean-Fukuyutaka 2021 and 2022 cultivars had the highest ratio of polyunsaturated fatty acids to saturated fatty acids, which is the most beneficial for health. Furthermore, new lipids such as acyl sterol glycosides were detected and characterized in these bean cultivars. This study indicates the potential nutritional evaluation and functional food value of lipids in beans.

Summary: A new strategy has been developed for computer-assisted methods in reversed-phase liquid chromatographic separations, using latent spectral information in chromatogram raw data files. By utilizing multivariate curve resolution-alternating least squares (MCR-ALS), this technique allows estimation of true spectra for individual components, providing a general approach for chromatography laboratory tools. This strategy is applicable to both known and unknown sample compositions, with the main difference being the need for an initial spectrum discovery process for unknown mixtures.
