Summary: A highly sensitive, specific, robust, and rapid fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA) was developed for the determination of erythromycin (ERY) in milk samples. The method utilized five tracers of ERY and three monoclonal antibodies to achieve high sensitivity. The developed FPIA showed a detection limit of 14.08 μg/L and recoveries of 96.08-107.77% with coefficients of variations of 3.41-10.97%. The total detection time was less than 5 minutes. The proposed FPIA method is a rapid, accurate, and simple screening tool for ERY in milk samples.

Summary: A simple and efficient solid phase extraction technique using functionalized silica nanocomposites was developed and optimized for the extraction of phenolic compounds from wine. The method involved pre-concentration and cleaning of the compounds using an adsorbent with covalently immobilized fragments of phosphonic acid covered with Fe3+ ions. The technique was successfully applied for the quantification of five phenolic compounds in red and white wine samples.

Summary: A homogeneous fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA) was developed for the detection of hazardous aquatic toxin okadaic acid (OA) in environmental waters. The FPIA showed a limit of OA detection of 0.08 ng/mL (0.1 nM) and a working range of 0.4-72.5 ng/mL (0.5-90 nM). The method was successfully applied for the determination of OA in river water and seawater samples without the need for sample preparation.
