Summary: We evaluated the healing of cutaneous wounds in male wild type (WT) and knockout (KO) mice (iNOS) after supplementation with L-citrulline (CIT) and L-arginine (ARG). The wound area was smaller and the contraction rate was higher with ARG and CIT in WT and KO. ARG and CIT accelerated healing and tissue repair at morphological, histological and biochemical levels.

Summary: The study found that supplementation with glutamine (Gln) can increase glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity, regardless of whether individuals are physically active or sedentary, but only physically active individuals showed increased PON-1 activity. These results demonstrate the potential of Gln supplementation in maintaining vascular redox balance, with potential implications for protection against atherogenesis.

Summary: This study investigated the response of intestinal amino acid transport and the amino acid pool in muscle to chronic cold exposure in pig models. It was found that chronic cold exposure inhibited amino acid absorption and depleted branched amino acids in muscle. However, glucose supplementation improved amino acid transport and the amino acid pool in muscle.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of pre-exercise amino acid supplementation on post-exercise iron regulation. The results showed that amino acid supplementation increased IL-6 and glycerol levels in healthy males after exercise, but did not affect post-exercise iron status or regulation.

Summary: This study aimed to develop molecular stress biomarkers in meagre meagres through analyzing the effects of dietary amino acid additives. The results showed diverse responses of molecular stress markers to different amino acid enriched diets, with the Asp supplemented diet showing more effectiveness in attenuating molecular markers compared to the Trp one.

Summary: This study combines chromatographic zonal elution, flow microcalorimetry experiments, and molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the interaction mechanism between amino acids and silica surfaces. It found that ion pairing is the dominant electrostatic interaction, with the interaction strength depending more on the repulsive carboxy group than the attracting amino group.

Summary: Short peptide molecules called antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are produced during immune responses to infections. Machine-learning methods have been used to predict AMP activity against bacteria, but often do not consider specific features of bacteria, such as membrane structure. To address this, researchers developed a new computational approach using specific data associated with peptides targeting E. coli bacteria to train machine-learning models. This study provides recommendations for designing more effective antibacterial drug therapies.

Summary: There are different types of short peptide molecules called antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) that are produced by living organisms as a response to infections.
