Summary: The study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of a contrast-free multimodal magnetic resonance (MR) protocol in detecting iliac vein obstruction and thrombosis, showing that the protocol accurately depicted iliac vein obstruction and detected accompanying venous thrombosis. The results suggest that the multimodal MR protocol is comparable to digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in accurately diagnosing iliac vein obstruction and co-existing venous thrombosis.

Summary: Magnetic resonance noncontrast thrombus imaging (MR-NCTI) demonstrates high sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing upper extremity deep vein thrombosis (UEDVT), with good interobserver agreement. MR-NCTI may have the potential to replace contrast venography as a second-line imaging test in cases of inconclusive compression ultrasonography.

Summary: This study showed that I3DV has high sensitivity and accuracy in detecting intracranial venous thrombosis. There was a significant association between thrombosis detection using I3DV and GST, as well as a potential link between false-positive thrombus diagnosis with I3DV and left transverse sinus hypoplasia.

Summary: The combination of DANTE black-blood preparation and FLASH gradient-echo readout showed better diagnostic accuracy and image quality for detecting DVT compared to MRDTI, making it a safe and convenient alternative for DVT diagnosis.

Summary: This study investigated the association between thrombus signal characteristics on T1-weighted black-blood magnetic resonance (MR) and the outcomes of catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) in acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) patients. The results showed that patients with relatively uniform thrombus signal (Iso-IT group) had better lytic effect, lower bleeding ratio, and lower incidence rate of postthrombotic syndrome after CDT compared to patients with high thrombus signal (Hyper-IT group). Therefore, thrombus signal characteristics on T1-weighted black-blood MR have the potential to serve as a noninvasive approach to guide treatment decision making in acute DVT patients.

Summary: This study investigated the clinical manifestations of lower-limb varicose veins using magnetic resonance angiography. The results suggest that symptomatic varicose veins and increased symptom severity are associated with increased blood flow rate and volume in the great saphenous vein.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the incidence of pre- and postoperative deep vein thrombosis (DVT) using duplex Doppler ultrasound (DUS) and the incidence of pulmonary embolism (PE) using CT angiography, as well as identify the predictors of postoperative DVT in patients with pelvic and/or acetabular fracture. The results showed that certain surgical and medical factors were associated with postoperative DVT.

Summary: This study compared the diagnostic efficacy of relaxation-enhanced angiography without contrast and triggering (REACT) protocol for MRV and IVUS. The results showed that REACT protocol MRV has the potential to be a highly sensitive and specific screening tool for diagnosing deep venous disease.

Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic ability of low tube voltage CTV with IR for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) compared to ultrasonography (US). The study found that above the knee, both low tube voltage CTV with IR and conventional CTV had comparable diagnostic ability for DVT, with reduced radiation dose. However, eccentric DVT measured by CTV tended to be a false positive, especially in the calf muscular vein.

Summary: Perinatal venous stroke is traditionally caused by cerebral sinovenous thrombosis, leading to congestion or thrombosis of small veins in the brain. Advances in MRI technology, especially susceptibility-weighted imaging, have allowed for the visualization of the engorged small intracerebral veins, expanding the spectrum of perinatal venous stroke to include various forms of congestion or thrombosis. Congestion or thrombosis of these veins can result in different types of edema or hemorrhage in the affected brain territory.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the incidence and risk factors of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients with pelvic or lower-extremity fractures in the emergency intensive care unit (EICU), and evaluate the predictive value of the Autar scale for DVT. Clinical data of patients with single fractures of the pelvis, femur, or tibia in the EICU were analyzed. Multiple injuries, fracture site, and Autar score were identified as independent risk factors for DVT. The Autar score had a moderate predictive value for DVT in these patients.
