Summary: This study found a significant moderate correlation between medical knowledge relevant to radiology practice and clinical productivity during radiology residency. Factors such as clinical productivity, gender of the radiology resident, and postgraduate year were independently associated with DRPT percentile scores. These findings suggest that clinical productivity of a resident could be a relevant metric in a radiology training program.

Summary: This study describes the implementation of a Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) strategy in residency education at Dalhousie University. Through the formation of a QIPS task force, literature review, and needs assessment survey, a roadmap with 46 recommendations was developed. The QIPS strategy is currently being implemented, and the evaluation and challenges faced are described. The results of this study and the implemented QIPS framework can serve as a guide for other institutions aiming to integrate these competencies into residency training.

Summary: The study found that few general surgery residents feel that high value care is very important for their future practice, and only a small percentage of residents believe they have the ability to lead quality improvement initiatives. In addition, a minority of residents have participated in root cause analysis, and exposure to cost considerations is limited.

Summary: Assessing trainees' surgical proficiency is important in urological surgical training. The current standard, Urology Milestone Project, has limitations and lacks real-time operative feedback. There are multiple competency-based surgical assessment tools available, and a comprehensive review of the literature is needed to analyze their strengths and weaknesses for further development of a standardized assessment tool in urology training.

Summary: The study described the initial implementation of the SIMPL app in pediatric urology rotation, the first among urology residencies, and provided preliminary data on its adoption by residents and faculty. Results showed that the application improved both frequency and quality of resident operative feedback, with positive feedback from both faculty and residents, indicating it was preferred over existing feedback systems.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the Dutch integrated nuclear medicine and radiology residency program from the perspective of nuclear medicine physicians and radiologists. The survey results showed that the program was generally well-received, but some concerns were raised regarding reduced exposure to nuclear medicine, less time for research, and international recognition.

Summary: The good development of health care is beneficial for improving the value and prospects of society. However, Ghana's health sectors are facing challenges in providing quality medical services to a growing number of patients. This paper proposes an integrated medical triangular fuzzy MULTIMOORA approach (IMTFMA) to properly evaluate the quality of hospital health-care delivery in Ghana.

Summary: This study examines the impact of a longitudinal, near-peer, dedicated ECG didactic curriculum on the ability of internal medicine residents to interpret ECGs accurately. The findings indicate that residents who participated in the curriculum demonstrated improved ECG interpretation skills. Attendance in more sessions and exposure to clinical cardiology rotations were also associated with greater proficiency in interpreting ECGs.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant changes in the dermatology residency application process, leading to a need for increased transparency. A study was conducted to assess the transparency of dermatology residency program websites in various aspects. The results indicate that there are shortcomings in information dissemination, selection criteria, interview process, program priorities, and program requirements and opportunities. There is room for improvement in enhancing website transparency to better assist applicants in navigating the process.

Summary: P/F grading is becoming a popular alternative to tiered clerkship grading. The survey results show that PDs believe core clerkship performance is a reliable indicator of an applicant's preparedness for residency, but they have concerns about the objectivity of comparing applicants with P/F grading. However, PDs do not report a preference for either system and do not find a difference in performance between applicants from P/F and tiered grading systems.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on career choice and employment of pediatricians entering the workforce. The survey found that over half of the pediatricians reported being impacted by the pandemic, including career choice, employment search, and job offers. Applicants to general pediatrics and pediatric hospitalist positions, especially international medical graduates, were most likely to experience career impact.
